Lol I was freaking out that my hp22a slide doesn’t stay back after the 10th round, now I know it’s normal - whew was I freaking out lol, glad I have the lifetime warranty anyways but man that made me freak out for a second, it really is a nice little .22

Phil J.L Fig Its normal for the HP22. It should not be dry fired. So I kind of fixed my mag followers so the slide will lock back after the mag is empty. You can see it in the video on my channel. When it locks back I know its empty so I just pull the slide back the rest of the way to lock it open with the slide catch. This keeps me from dry firing the pistol every time a mag runs empty. Hopefully it will save my firing pin, spring, and hammer from damage. It does cut me down from ten rounds to nine though in my mags. The slide will not stay open if you pull the mag out because its the follower that keeps the slide back. That is why I manually lock the slide back. It took some tweaking on my mags to get them to run right and some function testing after I make changes but after putting in a little work they now run almost (about 99%) 100%. The last time I had them out they ran 100% with no problems. BTW, you may see me when the slide is back having to manually pull the slide back and release to chamber a round because after releasing the slide catch the slide would not pick up the first round. After filing/sanding a little bit the back corners of the mag lips I can now release the slide catch and the slide will pick up the first round. Those rear mag corners were hanging up the forward function of the slide picking up the first round.

RB M that’s a pretty cool little mod; wouldn’t that take away the lifetime warranty on the 22A?

RB M thanks I’ll check out your channel

@@PhilJLF Not for the mags. Lifetime is on the pistol. The weak point on all these mouse guns is always the mags. Keep the pistol clean and use mags that run.

RB M for the price and lifetime warranty it’s a good little gun.. and people say .22s are squirrel guns but most murders are actually carried out with .22 hand guns .. one of the most deadly weapon in America by statistic is a .22 LR (they are cheap plentiful and most murders are carried out close and personal), also with quiet subsonic ammo even without a silencer they aren’t too loud..

.I have some CCi 22 long rifle mini mags hp Was wondering if they will work in a phoenix 22a pistol?? Anyone?? REPLY
@rbm61846 жыл бұрын
MrStealth654321 The HP22 pistol is rated for standard velocity only so stick as close to that 1050-1150 FPS as possible. The HP (hollow point) mini mags I think are high velocity and should not be used. The plated solid 40gr. mini mags should be fine running at about 1235 FPS (only +85 FPS above). But I mostly run CCI standard velocity 1070 FPS in mine along with the plated solid mini mags. I kind of stick to these in mine. If high velocity is used repeatedly causing the slide to slam hard into the frame then the pot metal frame may crack. If you have a high round count in the thousands and you do not change out the old weak recoil spring with a new strong one then the slide will slam hard into the frame and crack it. This is the reason why the owners manual says to use standard velocity only and do maintenance on the pistol. You can watch the video and read the description on my channel about it. Hope this helps.

Don’t use subsonic ammo, I tried quiet ccs that spred out in 3s for small game with it and you have to rack it back after every time you fire
@rbm61846 жыл бұрын
@@PhilJLF Yep. I don't use subsonic in the HP22 unless I wanted to stay quiet and not spook small game. Then just rack the slide after every round. Subsonic has it place for certain situations. I use Remington Low Noise CBees in my Winchester 190 rifle for small game. I have to manually cycle the bolt with it. My Heritage Arms Rough Rider single action revolver will shoot anything. Revolvers are not usually particular about any kind of ammo. www.remington.com/ammunition/rimfire/cbee-22

RB M I like my Remington 870 12 gauge magnum and the 870 20 gauge “youth model” - talk about reliable rifles! Yeah the guy at the store gave me a box of the 500 cc 1235 40 grain, the hp22a seems to like those, the subsonic I use where I have to rack it back every time is the cc quiet-22 710 FPS 40 grain segmented hollow points (like you said, they have their time and place lol)

What kind of pistol is that ?
@ToneM7 жыл бұрын
anthony lee Phoenix Arms hp22a 22 long rifle pistol. Works really good super accurate blowback design just like the Denali has a barrel that comes out that can be switched from the three inch that you see into a 5 inch that I have not yet purchased. The five inch barrel gives you a lot more velocity and longer distance with tremendous accuracy. Not that the three inch barrel is bad either though.
@anthonylee34157 жыл бұрын
Tone M would you use that firearm as a carry conceal weapon as well ?
@ToneM7 жыл бұрын
anthony lee LOL it's funny that you asked that question and the answer to it is yes I actually do. I swap between the 380 and this 22 when I go out. The reason I do that is because the 380 only holds five rounds and I had three magazines that I carry with me so that gives me 15 rounds and I always keep One in the Chamber so 16 rounds total with the 380. But this 22 comes with a 10 round magazine and I have 3 of them as well so I carry 30 rounds plus one in the chamber 31 total. So in total I get more firepower with this one, plus great accuracy.

anthony lee I have not had any issues with this pistol at all whatsoever in the years that I've owned it. I've got over 800 rounds now through it.
