So glad you dropped this video soon after the last one setting it up. I was not looking forward to waiting a week to see it. So thank you I was so stoked when I got the notification.

I really love watching these videos you put out where you are working things out. You include your thought process, insecurities and mistakes...and what you are going to do to make the corrections. We get to see the improvements or changes, learning along the way how to search for solutions. Your videos show that it's not about being perfect, but about just being eager enough to keep searching for answers. Sharing your vulnerabilities within the process of archery, I feel has brought the sport closer to people like myself who love it, but are struggling to learn. Thanks so much!

Remarkably consistent the whole time... and that last end was 🤌 Nice summary of thoughts at the end, very interesting. I can absolutely relate to the TP interfering with your ability to be as in tune to your shot as you would like to really sus out issues. Been my entire archery life for over a year now. It is tough though... blank bale I don't have any issues working my shot... things feel good... but then as soon as I get the target it front of me that increased tension is there and introduces issues. Working through it, learning more and more about myself and my shot every session.

I'm a Barebow shooter with Target Panic. I've been shooting Olympic Recurve and Compound to improve my Barebow shooting. I hit on the same thing as you. With the clicker/resistanxe release I felt a load of issues with bow grip and finger pressure/position on the tab/Evolution release. The clicker/release aid took the stress away and slowed the shot down giving me time to feel this stuff. It really helped me. Glad it did for you!

For what it's worth, the Yost tabs are bomber if you set them up with 3 flat pieces of elastic in lieu of the single round piece. I had the same issue and that resolved it

Great job Jake once again. I sure wish the center of my target was as shot our as yours. I tend to be much more generous with my arrow distribution🙂

Hey Jake! Noticed something in regards to your problem with the early click. At 3:53 you can use the amount of your arrow sticking out to the right of the riser to tell that you are slightly overdrawing before your anchor (at the time of the click). Compare the amount of arrow sticking to the right of your riser during a "normal" shot and the click happens at the same time. It's very much harder to see at 5:58 but I suspect it's the same issue.

There is a finger spacer that you can use on your Yost. I have a Znipper barebow tab that has a thin finger spacer. I find that is a more stable tab. I had a Yost, but prefer the Znipper tab.

You made a comment in passing that stood out to me, partly because I have not thought of it and because I think it might help me personally, is keeping teeth together, so far I have not been conciously aware but I think I relax my jaw slightly enough so the teeth are not quite touching so it can be like a moving inconsistant anchor point, next time I shoot I want to check that out.

Wow. I just started experimenting with 3 under instead of my normal split fingers, and i actually like it, im taking my course soon, its already payed for just waiting for the date i should start. Obviously i wrote on the form that im a bigginer which technically i am, but after over a moth shooting ive learned so much, so the first bit will have to involve me being very humble and not stating i know this or i know that, but im very hopeful that at the end they have a little competition that i should do really well in that. I normally warm up, then do around 50 to 100 arrows, depending on what kind of day ive had, at 52 im pretty fit, but archery in heat really does take it out of you. Im going to post after each lesson what ive learned, to give those who are interested a look at what a archer course in bigginer standards are like, and what you actually learn. I know the first lesson will probably not involve shooting at all, as it states on the "what will happen" its says getting to know the equipment. I shoot a samick sage at 25lb, so im interested in what they use. Anyway i know i ramble abit it comments, but im very interested in the clicker on bare bow. So this was a good video, i watched the one before and happy this came quick to see what its all about. Again thankyou for teaching me everything i know, you have been my virtual coach lol. Thus very much think i should show my appreciation when i get paid next week. Because you have been a huge mentor for me 🙂

Regarding breaking ties with suppliers: As an end-customer who's been really disappointed with a company, what I demand isn't perfect business. Just open communication. If I have to wait an extra two months because of unforeseen supply shortages? That happens, I can tolerate that. It's when I walk into a shop for my appointment after 3 months of waiting, and they tell me they won't have my bow and arrows for another 2 months, and neither the shopkeeper nor the supplier thought to track the status and give me a heads-up...that's when I'll cancel the order and never come back.

Interesting video Jake! Hey Jake, I love the black widow tabs for hunting, but they do not have barebow marks. I replace the velcro with para cord and a cord clamp. I also have a Yost for barebow. I swapped the shock cord with para cord so it can't stretch and jump out of my hand. Plus I trimmed it a lot so it's less floppy. I really like your videos!

One more great video ! I'm struggling with my znipper barebow tab. Friends told me I should cut it more but they all have different opinions on the shape, the amount aso. If you make (or have) a video on how you decide the shape of tab leather, I would be happy to see it. And if you plan on making your own the way you design it could help me anyway. As you coach using video, I'm still hoping to see one day your advices on how to make a video setup to record ourselves. Maybe a cheap version and the best version with highspeed camera and such. Keep going and many thanks !

hi Jake, still the beginning i shoot classic recurve without a clicker (i shot 3 months barebow till 20 meters) once i have my ancher position i count , 2-3 and i release because i'm ready some friends had so many mecanic problems even in competition, i think it can be matter of de-concentration on the target but it's because i shoot with a traditionnal recurve and i count 3 and i release !

I don't like shock cordage on my finger tab. No elastic anything on the tab. Made a tab that connects to middle finger and a separate wrist wrap from the palm plate. Yes I have to use my teeth to tie it on securely. So two different attachment points on one tab. Lessons learned from several cheap tabs and some homemade failures.
@shredfreak83 Жыл бұрын
either change the strap on the yost to a bra strap, wich you can work into a 3 loop on the brass one. or get the spigaralli BB+ tab. The spiga is black markings on a black tab though... so fill it in with some acrylic ink & you're good to go, though they'll be releasing a brass version of it soon aswell i believe. As for draw length consistency i use the gillo pockets to induce some degree of stacking on the limbs at full draw. i did get uukha's and i just don't gel with it all, i degraded them to oly style recurve limbs and for some reason it works better.

@vaazig Жыл бұрын
I'm really happy with that tab. It would be interesting to hear what Jake thinks about it.
@cavetroll Жыл бұрын
I might be wrong here but I think that the clicker cable might have been catching a bit. It may have settled a bit into the twist from the previous one and that artificially shortened it causing that early click. Tried to slow it down and zoom in.

Do you think that after a while using the clicker (and there on solving some issues of the release process ) you could eventually see it as a reason to abandon it… do you use it as a tool temporarily or do you feel it is now part of the process nowadays?

@danielbeaudoin679910 ай бұрын
I think i figured out why the clicker clicks sooner…. While walking the string it changes the angle of the lower limb when you crank the string. Maybe this reaction would be avoided by attaching the clicker on the top limb ,this would surely attenuate this problem
@JakeKaminskiArchery10 ай бұрын
It actually is from how I draw. I found out I slightly over-draw before anchoring with my barebow anchor.
@thephoenicianarcher5267 Жыл бұрын
Maybe you must put the clicker on the stiffer limb
@blindarcher4962 Жыл бұрын
Jake, is it "truly" target panic or could it be you are just so conditioned to a clicker because of your career that the transition is more difficult? Then, from a total amateur, could you start your expansion and just say/think "click?"
@amrazing33 Жыл бұрын
All I can think about the inconsistent clicking time was, it must've been affected by the changes in your crawl. I have only watched through the 7th minute, we'll see if you figured this out by the end of the video lol
@amrazing33 Жыл бұрын
You know, with slightly different crawl, you'll get slightly different angles on the limbs
