Watching an Olympian compare arrows is a remarkably different experience than when I do it! Awesome.

Should I keep a heavy bow to build strength? My experience is when I go lower in draw weight my body just gets weaker and all of a sudden 45lbs feels like 50lbs used to.

I am the beginner. I notice that with basic barebows, after 20 -30 first shots, the following shots become imprecise even I tried to aim im the same place and keep my form the same. For example: the hitting positions on the board get lower and lower or moving more left or right. I am confused. Do the limbs become soft and imprecise after many attempts besides technique issue ? Thanks

Shit my southwest archery Spyder recurve in minus 15 Celsius or 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Hoody over insulated shirt, t-shirt, insulated glove on right hand (I'm a left handed draw). String fingers got cold after 24 arrows. Clothing not a problem with accuracy as I'm shut at archery. 😃

Great video man, thank you very much for sharing this knowledge. I was finding myself completely clueless about the sense of tension and direction until I saw this video, in my last class the bow was turning to the left on my hand after release and i couldn't figure it out the problem. Maybe if I aim the tension of the bow arm towards the target that i want to hit, it will stop turning and sending my arrows towards the left side of the bull's eye.

@@JakeKaminskiArchery So also for barebow you suggest 40? In the other video you suggest an angle lower that 35, the I am barebow grip that I own is 33. So what you’ll suggest? I would like to change the grip to get one that fit my hands, thanks

I’ve been practicing archery for awhile now and I’m a pretty accurate shooter so trying step three feels uncomfortable and doesn’t seem to help. Does this mean I’m doing it wrong or is step three not mandatory for better accuracy?

Hello Jake, always enjoy your videos and I've learnt so much from you🙏 I started with compound and always use blade arrow rest since majority of the Pro use it. The blade just serves as a damping similar to you new springy arrow rest. Later I switch to Asian as well as American trad bow as I want to pursuit the simplicity and pure of archery. As you know that the arrow shelf is pretty much stationary so things you can adjust is very limited , apart from the archer him or herself. Recently I started barebow and have used conventional barebow specific wire arrow rest. Then I encounted the bouncing off issue so I bought the Zniper rest. Like you and many others have mentioned, it's quite difficult to set when using arrows with heavy points. I use 300 grain points on a 35' long 6.2 shaft. I could never set it drop as it should be or else it would be "too light" keep dropping. So I thought what the hell I will just shoot it like an American trad bow and the bouncing off issue seems to alleviate despite the wire is not dropping. At time my claw is about half an inch below the nock. One day I tried my compound 3.2 arrows with way over spine on this barebow and I had to claw much deeper as the arrows are shorter. Suddenly the rest started to work as it advertised. I have a theory, maybe if the downward pressure was not significant enough on my 6.2 arrows so the rest didn't need to drop or perhaps there was actually subtle downward movement of the wire similar to blade arrow rest yet the magnitude is not strong enough to overcome the magnetic force thus the wire would bounced back to upright position after the arrows leaving the riser.
@TracyPicabia5 күн бұрын
Back to clicker off the sight extension looks like the best option. Reshaping a clicker to exert no downward pressure might end up even less optimal than the extension. Can see why you'd hate using a sight extension on a BB but hey, using a clicker for BB at all is already far from optimal so ??... I would probably have spent weeks of rage and frustration trying to figure out why vertical consistency had gone to hell. Jake spots it immediately. Great content as always.

The sight mounted clicker does the same thing

Right. I had a Shibuya rest which coukdnt handle fat arrows with 200g points so resorted to win and win bog standard rest. Not ideal but wlorks ok@@JakeKaminskiArchery

I too have come to the conclusion the Zniper is a bit flawed... Might just go back to an AAE wire rest for a while. Also ironic that I spotted the arrow react to the clicker and I was going to comment but then you also noiced 😂

I wonder if one of the old inertia drop away rests could be modified to make a good bare bow rest, I definitely think it would be worth a try as it wouldn’t be effected by point weight

Hi Jake…..could ya just run it without the clicker ? Everything seems to be working perfectly with only just that tiny issue. Perhaps a different approach to how far the arrow should be pulled back. I know it may be a far fetched idea, given your experience and expertise. But I typically go by “ feel “ according to the different angles I shoot at, and since it is an indoor setup you have, it shouldn’t be too difficult to dial in by “ feel “……..I don’t know what ya think about it, but I thought I’d send that idea your way 😉🏹🏹🏹thanks for posting brotha……always enjoy your content 🙏👍

Maybe try a clicker that drops off the sight extension - slicker clicker, AAE extended clicker etc. that would push straight in rather than at an angle.
