The T6i is a great camera to learn photography. It takes great pictures, is easy to use, and is forgiving of errors. I wouldn't say it´s a very good option for video, though.

The T6i has the same image sensor as the Canon M50, The R50 and the R10. Their newest mirrorless aps-c cameras haven't changed much since they dropped the T6i.

Amazing! I just got the t6i with the same lens as a hand me down but I'm looking at getting the a7rv and start doing videos with it so I'm very happy to have found this video. Great job!

I enjoyed your video and the presentation of the video capabilities of the T6i. I don't do much video but mainly stick to nature photography. I had a new model 250D and was very disappointed with soft focus issues with it. I found a T6i with lenses for $230 and bought it to just get a benchmark for what I should expect from an entry level Canon DSLR. It turns out that I have sold the 250D and am getting more familiar with the T6i. However, it's crop sensor seems to be consistently outperformed by my small sensor, Sony HX400V bridge camera.

Brilliant video and great results. There is a time for high end equipment but most people are looking at the content and story, Excellent value for the price, I personally never buy the latest camera. Depending on what I am shooting I can get good results from a 10-15 year old digital camera and or camcorder. 1080p at like 60, 30 or 24 fps is great. Using vintage lens on some cameras can make the video look amazingly retro and filmic. Thanks for sharing and always great content!

Thank you! Agreed! I went on a trip to Montreal this August with my girlfriend and took nothing but my Canon G11 to document it (record video). That thing shoots 640x480... objectively "bad" video ...but putting everything together it makes the video so much more fun, organic, and authentic than the crazy 4k 60 or whatever from my high end gear or unnaturally sharp video you get from a cell phone. i edited it together and it looked like mini dv... i knew the video wasn't going anywhere, its just for the memory, so may as well have a little fun with it! Thanks again for watching :)

It's an ok camera, but it would be even better if you had T5i, because then you can install Magic Lantern on it, which really unlocks many possibilities, like recording 14bit raw video. Of course, if you're creative, you can shoot video with T6i, but if you want a video that also looks great, then you'll probably use the Sony 7RV. Making the video that look great can also be achieved with T5i & Magic lantern, that's why I mentioned it. Greeting.

it is a bummer that the canon t6i does not support magic lantern or CHDK. i didn't know the t5i supported it and even allowing 14 bit raw video, wow! i should take a look at something like that. thank you for sharing :)

So was that whole thing uncut, straight out of the card? Ie: minimal editing. or did you still run it through software and clean it up to make it look nice?

yes, but it's not in 1080p, only 720p. in todays day and age 720p won't even give you the hd badge on youtube :( better to stick to 1080p. i left a star in the corner that says "*in 1080p" when i mentioned it
