Hi there! I know it's super inconsequential to most folks, but I'm hard of hearing, so the captions that appear on screen are so helpful when it's what you're actually saying (as opposed to YT-generated captions). Do you mind raising yours just a little bit so it's not blocked by the overlay at the bottom (username, sub button, video title, etc.)? It'd mean a lot, since I love your videos. If you can't, no big deal, the visual's nice too. :)
@blumineck8 күн бұрын
I'll try to do that where I can! I sometimes have to juggle positioning to avoid blocking aspects of the video, but that's not always an issue
@SRCrane8 күн бұрын

I have the same problem and I've found that if you open the comments, then drag the comments panel down nearly all the way but not quite, you can hold it there and keep the subtitles in the perfect spot. It's a bit annoying but I know most creators can't really get them high enough so this is the best solution I've found. Hope it helps ❤️
@michaelimhof42123 күн бұрын
If you add the short to your Watch Later (or any playlist), you can watch it like a normal video, so the overlay won't get in your way. (The list needs to contain at least one long-form video for it to work.)

Many people would deeply envy your arms. And some would want you to put your arms around them. Also, it's obvious your build is meant to be slim (I profoundly envy that). You probably naturally have more compact muscles. Since I've watched many of these videos, I can see you are impressively strong. Your pole dancing and acrobatics require plenty of strength.

“Not jacked” *has enough force to pierce to targets*
@alexharvey76609 күн бұрын
I feel like one problem with this against an actual person is that a watermelon explodes if it's hit with an arrow so the arrow can just keep flying through, while an arrow might get stuck much more easily in a human target where the fleshy bits are all held together better (not to mention the muscle fibers and bone are a lot harder to penetrate). I really don't know if this is possible or not though, since I've never seen a human actually get shot with an arrow outside of the Hollywood stuff lol.
@bluesbest18 күн бұрын
The only bones between the ribs and pelvis is the spine, so that shot of the arrow going through one guy's abdomen and into the other guy doesn't sound particularly unrealistic. Especially if the archer is using a bow with enough draw strength and the arrow is sturdy enough to handle that strength. I haven't watched the movie, but if we assume the first target doesn't have a 6-pack, then most of his abdomen is softer tissue rather than dense, toned muscle, leading to Blumineck's point about the human body being mostly water.
@blumineck8 күн бұрын
That's one of the reasons for tying a bundle of dowels to the first watermelon for the power demonstration. As it happens, I then missed them in the final shot, but it's possible for an arrow to completely miss any bones. I'm not sure if this would really work, but given that bows can be used that have 1.5x the power of this one, I think it's plausible enough that it /could/ happen, though probably not every time you'd want it to

@buffruddy2978 күн бұрын
Considering that hunting bows regularly completely shoot through deer and fly out the other side I would wager a heavy enough bow could easily puncture a person and hit a second no problem. I saw a guy test this on a ballistic dummy and, depending on the arrowhead, the arrow would completely pass through the dummy no problem.

There aren't a lot of shots that do anything vastly different from this. The most interesting thing he otherwise does is using his arrows as improvised daggers, but if you're that strong and using a bow that powerful, then you probably also have pretty sturdy arrows (and even then one is shown to break)

I remember watching an African trophy hunt highlight video and with a modern bow I’ve seen a hunter shoot an arrow THROUGH an elephant. In and out completely, poor thing didn’t get too far until he dropped. At least it was quick
@samuelbrown3405Күн бұрын
I'm generally VERY conflicted about trophy hunting, but I have to say that in a strange way an arrow is probably the most humane way to do it. With a clean pass through and a wide cutting broadhead, the animal likely won't feel very much pain at all. A double pass through would most likely feel like a weird punch, a strange mild sting that won't go away, and then the blood loss causes really rapid unconsciousness
@Banished-rx4olКүн бұрын
@@samuelbrown3405 The elephant was gushing blood, the slo-mo of the arrow showed it had a huge multi-bladed head that probably liquified the lungs and heart of the elephant. Probably one of the best showcases of the power of a bow and arrow I’ve ever seen
@samuelbrown340520 сағат бұрын
@@Banished-rx4ol actually, cutting surface isn't so much about causing tissue damage as it is just about instigating blood loss. It's actually preferable that the arrow dump as little of it's energy into tissue as possible and instead just causes a nice solid cut through internal organs and major blood vessels. It inherently hurts less. Kinda like how a slap really, really hurts right away but like stepping on a nail, while it doesn't feel great, also doesn't feel as severe or acute.

There are stories and videos of hunters getting pass-throughs on deer with 70 pound bows. Sure those might be from compound bows and at short ranges but theres no reason to believe an aseatic composite or a traditional recurve couldnt do the same at 100 pounds. And a deer can be wider side to side than a human is front to back so this might really be possible.
