Looks like you're shooting left. (Did I notice that you're left handed, too?) Try switching to your other hand and see how your pattern changes. I'm surprised that you couldn't get a weld to take; I thought cast iron would be pretty weld friendly. Were you using an acetylene torch? Arc welder? Did you try different welding rods? (Jeez, now I'm curious...)

I am going from memory, but, as I recall you PRE heat cast iron, then they sell a "stick rod" for the arc welder to weld cast iron. But, it's not fun to weld up... it's like welding the spider gears in your rear end, great, UNTILL It breaks, and tou through the whole unit away. --the chain is the best way to hold this up. -- just don't forget a .357 magnum can CRACK the engine block of a truck, and that engine block is cast iron. ----

lead bullet wont come back, but copper jackets will. we used to shoot steel bowling pin silouttes with .45s. No copper jackets!!!...lead only. Plus, its easier on the barrel. We where shooting thousands of rounds a year..was fun!

You will shoot right through it with anything doing 2,000 fps or faster....they are not bullet proof or resistant for that matter. You will blow chunks right out of the casting even with your pistol in time. I have ruined a few of them.
