I love harsh light, about 6 months ago I started playing around with it, it works so well in cities as you can use buildings and cars to form shadows to create really interesting compositions you couldn't overwise do with soft light

Yep! But sometimes in narrative you want the face to be soft on tights

Just bought it! I'm only in the daytime interior section and this is doing wonders for my understanding of lighting choices available. I didn't know about negative fill. Learning about using a key light to support the motivating light. Didn't know what a motivating light was. Cheating the bed/couch away from the wall was a great tip. Diffusing the window was also a good tip. I got all that in the FIRST set up. Can't wait to learn about night time lighting. Thank you! One thing I would love more information on - is what lighting gear do you recommend to your audience of one man band creators? Very curious if someone has a limited budget what you would recommend for cost effective lighting gear.
@DannyGevirtz4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much dude!! So pumped to hear that. I honestly recommend brands like Aputure and nanlite. Consumer level and super powerful easy to use. Not really a fan of all the other knock offs. Worth the extra money in my opinion to go with those

This is a great way to light sunny exteriors, thanks. One thing to point out though is that the scene isn't really backlit, it more top 3/4 lit, and you're shooting into shadow side. If it was backlit you'd have to bounce light into his face to get exposure, but negative fill would have more effect. Either way, great video.
