Any oil on the latch mechanism will cause action to open. Make sure no oil on catch.

that was the problem, I cleaned it after I learned about that problem and I cleaned the latch and locking lug which fixed the problem. I've put nearly 45 rounds of both smokeless and black powder ammo through it without problem.

That forearm was altered or changed. Any update? Thx.

yeah, the stocks where changed by the previous owner. As for an update there was dirt or oil on the locking lug and after it was cleaned it fixed the problem.

Yeah, I'm going to clean the gun and check the lock up before I shoot it again. Also its interesting to see you here.
