A new mini series of 2 minute tutorials, as a result of being asked the same questions by many people. It is geared towards those of you that wish to extend your accurate field shooting.
The first one in this series, is on the vitally important aspect of keeping a thorough and accurate record of all your shooting, including settings, weather conditions, point of impact etc.
The reason this is so important, is because we can then use this evidence to make EDUCATED calculations, as against UNEDUCATED guesses.
Apps and truing the trajectory seem to be the new garlic bread, but anyone who knows anything about field shooting is all different environments, will know that there are so many variables that apps just will not cater for, on the longer shots.
This series is designed to be thought provoking, and you will see that sometimes there is no quick solution.....for your firing solution. We will be looking at all the usual stuff, such as wind speed and wind application, wind gauges and range finders, judging distance, group size verses MPI, mils v moa, etc etc
Enjoy

Like this very much. I began the habit of keeping a journal for nearly everything when a school boy. This is an excellent habit.

Great points on the clothing. I'm a advocate of keeping a zero and data log especially in the fall during deer season when extra clothing, gloves, and cold temperatures make a huge difference! looking foward to this mini-series.

You will probably cover how you ascertain that data (temp and wind) as well as what intruments you use so I won't ask. I'll be patient.

+denise turner Any decent gunsmith will get CZ rifles. The .204 is pretty popular but if you want the varmint barrel you may have to order it.
