Thank you. Straight to the points with no obnoxious canned repetitive background music. Also, no beautiful model that 95 percent of us cannot afford to hire. You kept it real.

Thank you! This was so helpful, so easy. I've been a photographer for a lifetime, and only shot tethered once. I had an assistant set it up and she made it seem so darn complicated. I wish I had seen this first! Now heading into my second tethered shoot with confidence.

Hi Tanya, that is so cool. It makes such a difference to see your photos on the big screen. Let me know how you go and if you have any questions.

Really good vid. Didn't know much about tethered shooting and was thinking about getting a camera to do it. Now I will get a camera and the software. And likely a Tether Tools cable.

I'm so glad it helped. I use it for my headshot business all the time. Nothing like having a nice big screen to check your work. I'm putting together a PDF guide which should be up in the next week to go along with this video so keep in an eye out for it at www.ministryofphoto.com Dan.

Darktable is also a soflware alternative, at least with some cameras.

An excellent point. Especially if you have an older camera also. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have an event in a few weeks and wanted to know if this would be efficient. I want to see and show the event goers the pictures on a monitor then print them

Hey Avery, for things such as events where you are going to be walking around I would recommend a wireless solution like a CamRanger. I own a CamRanger myself and it is really good for having a computer receiving all the images as you shoot without the wires.

Hello there, great video! I will use tether with Lightroom... In this case, will I have images stored at my SIM card? I am terrified with not having everything stored at my Sim Card! Having only on computer seems risky ;(

Hi Luciane, thanks for checking out the video. Yes, if you shoot tethered with Lightroom you will have the photos in your memory card in your camera and you will also have them in your computer. What kind of camera are you using?

Hi! Really any camera with a detachable lens and resolution of at least 16 megapixels will work in most scenarios. However, you can even use a phone. I have done paid work using just an iPhone. Think more of the lenses rather than the camera. A macro lens is the best but if not just get a extender tube. I made a video about this a few days ago if you want to check it out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZC3hXZ5a96Klc0

Are you able to do this without a Wi-Fi connection?
@DanCantero
@DanCantero Жыл бұрын
Sure can. The connectivity relies solely on the cable.

You can always link DPP to view the images, and do small adjustments.
@DanCantero
@DanCantero 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Adrian, absolutely! DPP is a great tool specially if you want to control the camera remotely too. I ended up redoing this video because I found the DPP would often conflict with the other apps like Capture one and Lightroom.

What if you are using back button focus?..
@DanCantero
@DanCantero 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Greg, there should be no problem on using back button focus. The idea would be to focus your shot and then turn the focus to manual so that it doesn't hunt back and forth. Personally, I use the live view function in Lightroom and then manually focus the shot but back button focus will also work.
