I used to be wreckless, getting drunk and in alot of fights over the smallest things, wanting to show that I was tough. When you're young, you dont think about how fragile life is or what the consequences could be. I feel lucky that I never got hurt badly. As Ive gotten older, I realize how ignorant that was and will try my best to avoid any type of conflict now. Im focused on being as good a person as I can be, and put out positive energy to everyone.

Same here bro. We are very blessed that nothing ever happened this bad because lord knows I was trying to prove myself by any means necessary. Had I grew up in the hood or had my dad never landed himself on death row I'd for fact be dead or in prison today.

I’m proud of ya. I use to do same. Wild child starting at 14. Would hang with much older people which were adults. I’d lie to get in bars say I was 21 I know I couldn’t looked 21 at 14 but I was very pretty and knew it and used that to my advantage to get into places and get things. Anyways I’d love to fight. I’d start shit with other girls all the time. Dare them to even look at me funny. I dated a man that was 24 and a drug dealer. He was mean and would fight and that’s why I even fell in love with him. Omg the drinking I done the crazy shit I pulled. I stole cars for the hell of it . I was outta control . I look back now and think wtf was I thinking? I can’t even believe the stuff I done. I think I was nuts I had to be . Only time I got hurt is when my old man woukd beat me. I remember going doing major drug deals with him and his people and not even thinking one thing bad. Just hurry up I want to party . I could had been killed. Getting pregnant is what changed my life. I had a kid by the time I was 15 by that older boyfriend. It woke me up I straightened my ass up for my child. I stopped drinking doing all that bad shit. My child actually saved my life. People look at me now and would never believe how I use to be . I’m so glad I woke up cause I’d definitely be dead now. Your story is like mine and I’m glad your alive and okay!!

They are always nice guys...until they just aren't anymore. He is not wrong for calling it the "testosterone" highway (poetic license). There are always moments when boys and girls have to make a decision about who they are and who they are willing to become. Drugs and hormones and not enough attention destroy our children.

It's crazy just _how_ normal he makes it sound. But that's one of the beauties of this channel: To really be taken in and experience it from another person's perspective. It's so easy to relate once one tries to empathize and just puts all of one's judgments aside. The craziest stories can sound just so surreally normal.
@tacla
@tacla Жыл бұрын
I know, right? The way he speaks makes him sound so relatable and he has an amazing amount of insight for someone who went through something like he did. I kept wincing everytime he casually said he was gonna continue chasing the dude who SHOT HIM. but at the same time, part of me can see how he got into that situation from both his own fault and his surroundings. Fuck man this channel makes me appreciate the things I have by seeing stories like this and just feeling for him despite his mistakes, like a lot of people on this channel.
@The_HSP_Essays
@The_HSP_Essays Жыл бұрын
@@tacla The story is just utterly insane. Every part of it is insane and makes one wonder "why would you do that?". At the same time it's perfectly normal once you're able to put yourself in the position. :) I can feel his anger at the guy who threatened him with the gun. I can feel the rage and indignation how someone would dare to actually threaten your life over something so petty. But there has to be some part of you that reminds you that harassing him for a solid 10 minutes and then pushing him isn't a good idea.

Fantastic interview. All the best to Robert. When he described the Mexican guy telling him he wasn't gonna die, that hit really hard. I had a somewhat similar experience where I got in a wreck this past December. I got t-boned by a big SUV going about 60 when I was turning. I wasn't unconscious but I was extremely concussed, my nose was bleeding, my car was trashed, glass was everywhere, and my torso hurt badly. The first person who showed up was a neighbor I had never seen before looking up through my broken window and he talked me through it and told me help was coming and he never once left my side even though my car was pitched at an angle in a ditch and could have fallen on him. I thought I might have internal injuries and believed there was a good chance I'd die from them. I just wanted my mom to arrive before I died so I could tell her I loved her and I was sorry for not paying more attention. And that man kept me cogent and lucid and was like a fucking angel. A human face who cared and was gonna be there for me and make sure I wasn't alone if I died.

Yup the nurses at my nanny's nursing home were no where to be found one night and her colostomy bag needed to be changed and she was panicking. I searched the place to round the corner and find them all curled up in a sitting room watching American Idol! They yearly took a stroke when I blew in there and let them know that if one of them didn't get to my Nan's room asap there was going to be an awfully mess from floor to ceiling. I remember cleaning up a mess the same at my work and it was pretty bad. Answer your buzzers. These are old people and you are getting paid well to go to them when they are in distress😢

@Blacklock007 He was working under the table and got caught. He clearly can work - just doesn't want to work. There is no reason he cannot work - he could be a bank teller or a customer service agent or a cashier at a grocery store. Not all jobs require you to bend over and pick things up from the ground. His stupidity should not be rewarded. Further, he's perfectly capable of working.

Man this reminds me of a similar situation. Not nearly as severe but it taught me a valuable lesson about always being aware of your surroundings. I was super drunk and on drugs at a really hardcore bar that I had never been to before. Was overly confident and being an asshole and ended up getting into a fight. I got kicked out and was waiting for my ride. I then got jumped by at least 5 guys who gave me a concussion and really fucked me up. They even ripped my shirt off during the fight and kept it. Needless to say it was an awkward Uber ride home. I later found out that that bar was notorious for shit like that. I’ve been way more careful ever since. Could have been way worse.

Almost everyone (quite literally) gets denied for social security the first time they apply. I got a disability lawyer after I was initially denied. He said it's what they do, and in his opinion they do it to cut down on those that would abuse the system for social security. Only the truly disabled would persevere and get an attorney or file an appeal. I did have to wait 2 years before I was before the judge that was gonna rule on my case, but it was counted from my very first application date.
