3:34 Toyota used that radio in almost every car they made in the 90's and early 2000's. Camry, Highlander, 4runner, Sequoia, etc. And it worked every time. It's a matter of function over form.

An old Corolla like this is an honest car. It doesn't try to be anything but a simple reliable car to get from point A to point B. It hints that it could be sporty but doesn't compromise anything in the process.

You should definitely try to find a Corolla XRS of this generation! It has the same 2zz from the Celica GTS! And they rev up to almost 8k rpms!

Man this brings back some memories. I used to have an 06 Corolla S 5 speed manual, and sunroof. The original owner even sprung for the dealer installed Katskinz leather interior. The manual option made a decent difference in driving for sure. I sold it at 237k miles. Nothing outside of routine maintenance. I miss it for a daily driver. I hit 42mpg with it once on longer trip.

Almost all Corollas of this generation imported to my country are automatics. And nobody seems to import the XRS either. It's just the CE, LE and S trims.

I used to own a 2004 model. Looks very similar to yours, except mine was gray. Sadly, it was hit by a drunk driver and I had to replace it with something else. I guess it was kind of an upgrade because my replacement for it was a 2008 Lexus IS250. So much smoother and comfortable.

I had a 2006 Toyota Corolla CE White (base model), BUT 5 SPEED MANUAL! my parents bought it new and handed the car down to me for university, when they gave it to me had 201k miles, STUPIDLY RELIABLE CAR! at 201k miles it needed a new clutch which they put a new clutch in, then it drove PERECT, it needed some work in the 200k-300k mile range, new alternator at like 240k cause battery light, new starter at 260k, but besides simple maintenance it was perfect and no dings and paint was good and kept it waxed and reviving the engine and shifting whenever I wanted made the car feel much more peppy versus automatic, flooring it was fun when shifting at red line lol , car lasted till 320k when I unfortunately crashed on the freeway after a good 120k accident free run

I was in the market for a compact sedan at the end of 2002 and my two finalists were both Corollas, this 2003 model and the 2002 model, which was still available new at the dealer. After test driving both a few times, I ended up with the 2002! Car reviews at the time were raving about the new Corolla's refinement and exterior fit and finish, but I found it to be noisier, harsher riding and top heavy (disconcertingly so if you misjudge a turn at high speed) compared to the 2002 model. The 2003 model had a better interior, but that was the only advantage I could see, so I bought the 2002 model and I still have that car!

I bought mine new in 03. Now it's 21 with 262K miles on it. I had to hunt for one with the 5-speed. Never been sorry. This car is so cheap to drive and so reliable. It has never stranded me. Those few parts that have failed did so gracefully and with warning. You call it over the hill, I call it a wonderful car that isn't always making ridiculous & unhelpful noises, hijacking control, forcing me to take my eyes off the road to operate a touchscreen and is always in the right gear unless the pilot isn't paying attention. Oh, and those fine 12V outlets! Since USB ports change almost as fast at Taylor Swift changes boyfriends I'll happily use whatever adapter works at the moment and plugs into that STANDARD outlet that has had the same spec for over 60 years.

My 2003 le has a sunroof I don’t think they are too Common great car though 178k going strong these are well worth the money.I live in New England so rust can be a factor but my advice is park these cars in the winter it may save them from premature rust it also will help keep the car running.I started it once or twice a week in the winter no dead battery these cars the 9th gen are amazing and can last.it’s 20 years old and still gets on average 40mpg just amazing.I think the styling looks better then the older and modern ones well executed toyota. When I was in high school they were new here I am 34 and cannot believe the durability.Paid 3500$ well worth it a year later still no major disappointment.I will say change the transmission fluid a lot of these cars the fluids don’t get changed it’s well worth it.keep up on the fluids it will keep running a radiator for this car cost 70$ not bad got to tell you I used to drive old mercs and Volvos still good rigs but this thing is not a glutton for shame and punishment like some other makes.Buy far best Toyota.stay away from 1999 to 2002 they burn oil 03 to 07 good times on that model.
