Love these S&W model 3’s. The performance center made a commemorative version from 2000-2003 in 45 S&W which retailed for ~ $1500. Italian companies like Uberti still make them in 45 Colt, including the iconic Russian model.

Yes, I do believe that S & W makes the best Double action Revolvers! That Model 3 sure looks like a winner, especially for way back in the 1870's; where I am just not familiar with the 44 Russian Cartridge? It looks like a short 44 special.

The 44 Russian was lengthened by 1/8" inch to make the 44 Special, which was then lengthened again to make the .44 Magnum

Though I'm not a Smith& Wesson fan, I love learning gun history and seeing their innovation.

S&W made model 1 for US army but never been picked because of complicated desighn. Model 2 and Model 3 were created because Russians who agreed to adopt and buy those revolvers asked for couple of changes for that (hand grip, slight adjustment to cartridge, shorter barrel, solid front post, finger rest) Russian Empire bought around 50k model 2 and 3 from S&W dirrectly, and around 120k in tottal. Cool thing is 44. Russian cartridge was pretty much first that started trend of makind bullet smaller than casing to hide lubrication from elements

I would like to see a segment on "History's Gun" for the Remington model series 762/760/SIX/7600 perhaps in .35 Whelen chambering?

Got another scam on this channel earlier this week; pistol giveaway. I have shot breaktops in the past and that pistol the Model 3 is what I would carry in the west. My first revolver I shot as a kid was the S&W Number 2 in .32 long rimfire. I liked the .32 rimfire cartridge; now they're very hard to buy. I always wanted to engineer this pistol in .44 Magnum. I think it could be done with modern steels.

Does using the spur provide any advantage in cocking or steady hold?
@danrichmond8979 Жыл бұрын
@@mkshffr4936 I don't really use the spur while shooting. Only used to assist in drawing.
