On a podcast a couple of years before he died Blackjack said he only hit Ole one time and said he regretted it as soon as it happened that he should have not hit a man like that meaning he respected Ole. Of course Ric doesn’t have the greatest track record of being a stand up guy so I wouldn’t put a lot of stock in anything he says.

Blackjack Mulligan, big tough guy. Produced a big tough son in Barry Windham....Old school tough.

Mulligan main evented every show at Detroit's Olympia Stadium for over a year in the early 70' s with Lanza, facing Dick the Bruiser and his many partners. The Blackjacks held the WWA World Tag Belts long before they headed to the WWWF.

One of the bloodiest match I ever saw live was a match between Flair and Mulligan. It started over Flair trashing Mulligans hat giving to him from Waylon Jennings and then Mulligan trashing Flairs peacock rob values at 10 thousand dollars. Greensboro NC they met in the Big match. Sold out again.
@CarolinaPoet Жыл бұрын
I remember that angle! Each walked to ringside during the other's enhancement talent match. Flair came out first wearing the hat and destroyed it, and then Blackjack came to ringside in Flair's robe and ripped it to shreds. The jobbers in each match kept Flair and Mulligan from saving their prized possessions.

@@2strong2coolMulligan always sucker punched guys who were threats, he also sucker punched Bob Roop who was an Olympic Wrestler for no reason in the late 80's when Roop just showed up to see everyone. Mulligan knocked him to the ground but Roop was able to get him off then had to go to hospital due to his eye, The Iron Sheik then told Roop several days later that Mulligan was sorry and he felt bad for what he did. Roop said he planned on getting revenge on him by giving it 2-3 years so Mulligan would never expect it but after he got arrested and went to prison there was no need to do it.

Vince with Sgt Slaughter and couple others, Eric with Mulligan here - was it like a thing back then that the promoters would hire old school tough guy retired wrestlers to work for them in some capacity, while really being their “muscle”?? That’s absolutely how it comes off to me lol Like did Bischoff catch wind that Ole was talking shit and sent Mulligan there to purposefully be his enforcer?? Probably paid him to do it as well it seems to me
