Just in case it wasn’t abundantly clear: I have been and will still be continuing to donate! I do have a lot of life things that I’m currently paying/saving for but setting aside money to donate weekly has become a priority of mine as well. I just want to be as transparent as possible on how I’m helping🖤 I’m so worried my thoughts aren’t coming through clear enough. Stay safe everyone!🖤

At 12 my parents moved us to College Park Georgia. After years of us moving from state to state this is where we would stay the longest. Before the move we lived in Ozark Alabama (very small and very white). When I went to school for the first time in Georgia I was in for the biggest culture shock of my life. The school was North Clayton Middle School and it was a majority black school. While I didn't know the school was considered highly dangerous (but if you attended the school you knew it wasn't)I did notice that it didn't get the same funding other schools in the county got. When we visited other schools for games you could see what the others thought about our school. What I would grow to realize was it wasn't just the school but the students who went to that school. Then I got angry because these were my friends ,my classmates and we were just kids. While our school it was common for the police to bring in drug dogs and do random locker searches other schools didn't have that disruption. They didn't feel like they were always being watched. In tenth grade it was a bigger slap to the face when I would transfer to another school in the county and have my feelings that what was happening at North Clayton Middle and High validated. It was the truth ,they did think the school was dangerous and full of drugs and thugs. It was the biggest eye opener of my life. It changed how I treated people. I am 42 years old now and that was 30 years ago. It's about damn time America opened it's eyes.

Hopefully now, with louder more unified voices, we'll hold those we vote into office accountable for legislation that can and will change such glaring disparities. I'm 48, I hear ya! Shit's GOTTA change. But we have to keep the movement going past the protests, past the media coverage. ❤ Growing up in Boston and going to public school, I too saw the glaring differences between schools depending on the area it was in. Such bias and supposedly we were past all "that" back in the late 80's.

🍋 it exists! Hang in there girl, I know these are very emotional times. I'm 48 and it never gets easy seeing little to no ACTUAL change in our society. Always platitudes and rhetoric from the top, if you know what I mean? True change within a society is this! Regular people choosing where they spend their money, coworkers advocating for one another, neighbors getting to know one another and truly creating community. OUR voice and unity is greater than anything, ANYTHING. As long as this awareness continues and currupt powers are held accountable, true change will naturally come. Stay positive, this can truly be the beginning of a new, more positive era in our history.✨💖✨

You’ve been so good about spreading information! And I think your long term donating plan is a lot more realistic and genuine than what a lot of other people are doing, I appreciate your authenticity. I think it’s perfectly normal to be so negatively effected by what’s going on and I don’t blame you one bit. I hope you, Zane, and Felix (the other cats too of course, but especially Felix) are going to be ok! Sending good vibes your way. I’ve learned about so many new black owned makeup brands lately, but I’ll mention the ones I’ve used and loved. I’ll mention the obvious and more popular Fenty and Juvia’s (btw fully agree the Tribe palette is gorgeous and fits my mood right now too), then the less popular and underrated Coloured Raine eyeshadows, both mattes and foiled shimmers are amazing. They have great colorful pigments, and they colab with other African American artists. Also I have to sing he praises of Propa Beauty which just launched their first product: creme bullet lipsticks. To be honest I’ve been avoiding the bullet lipstick trend coming back, but I bought 5 of these as soon as I heard about them. They are nudes meant to cater to darker skin tones and they have more unique undertones than your typical pinky nude. The line is very brown, yellow, and orange, but there are some cool tones in there that won’t be super ashy on dark skin tones. All the ones I got look great on me, even though I have a light to medium skin tone. Looking into products that aren’t necessarily marketed toward your ethnicity can lead you to find some really cool outside of the box things.

I just wanted to say, (I used to comment ALOT on all your posts, but have been absent for 2 months now.... I’ll get to why in a second) that whatever is going on with your furbaby (Felix? I hope I spelled that right) I deeply relate to.... Peoples pets are their children in this day and age, and what we will spend for them, or do for them is limitless. 💙❤️ I stumbled upon your videos during a similar time, my best friend, Laikku (lie-coo) my baby.... he had heart failure. And it really started to get the best of him, we tried and tried to save for a surgery that could have saved him, but the timing was terrible for us.... (without going into detail we just couldn’t afford it at the time) and we got soooo many little donations to his surgery fund.... unfortunately.... our boy didn’t make it to his surgery date... and actually, one of the last things I did with him....? Was watch one of your videos around bed time with him cuddled up behind my knees.... we watched you in the morning usually too, because his declining health was stressful.... I needed positivity in my day, and you were always so cheery. :) so, I haven’t commented, since the night I lost him.... till this video. I deeply relate, and I hope whatever you are going through with your kitty is healable, and you are able to get “back to normal” you were Pretty vague, and I understand that... but I just wanted to throw my support and understanding out there. Though different situations, I know how it feels, and I so deeply related to this feeling I had to comment.... I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of things, and have been trying to watch your videos again.... but this little bit of info hit so close to home.... I’ll be keeping you, your husband Zane, and your furbaby in my thoughts. ❤️❤️💙💙

Thanks for addressing the racial discrimination and highlighting Juvia's . For cosmetics there's also Uoma and Mented and Midas!!. Jackie Aina has a helpful vidoe on more brands. I'm buying black owned products -- sustainable Toilet paper from Reel.com, natural home cleaning products from Pur Home and all natural Briogio hair products from Sephora. all are clean brands and Blk owned ! #BLM
