Today, I explain the black coating on these pistons that I am sticking into a block that has been around for a while. The pistons measure out a tad bigger than the piston clearance calls for, and this fills the gap perfectly!

With the coating on the pistons does it change the oil change interval? After the 20 minute run in period is it safe to assume you must change the oil before running the engine under load on the dyno or track? And finally what kind of life does it have and can it be reapplied if needed? The product sounds like a real long term cost saving option if it allows for use of a block and/or pistons for several more rebuild cycles, what a great find! Great question, I was thinking the same thing and can there be build up on oil pickup screen.

I've used it a few times and have literally never seen an issue with the oil or needing to change it after 20 minutes. The 20 minutes just gives it a chance to break in properly.

I have seen that Line2Line coatings on Steve Morris Racing's channel. I have thought about using it in the future. I am curious, if you don't mind me asking. What did it cost for a set of 4 pistons? BTW, I was hanging out and on track with Stephen Johnson a few weekends ago. Cool to see him out in the 370Z. He should be pretty quick with a fresh set of tires.
