Remember, necessity is the mother of all inventions! I’m always making tools and jigs for my projects. That’s how we now have modern tools! Keep up the good work! As far as the Woodriver… me me me, pick me!

I'm good for #5 planes but I do want to say something about those hound's teeth, they are absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks for all the good content Eric :)
@MarkPearson-uy7liАй бұрын
I learn a lot from your videos. I especially like how you teach ways to get things done without making overly expensive jigs. Include me in the raffle for the Wood River plane. I recently refurbished an old Stanley plane I bought at an antique shop. It cuts nicely, but I would like to compare it to your tuned up plane to see how good I actually did on mine.

I would like to give the WoodRiver plane a try. I only have a few low angle planes, and always feel like I am missing out on the higher cutting angles of life 😂. Thanks for the content either way!

Houndsteeth look great! Would love the woodriver plane, been meaning to add a no 5 to the arsenal.

I want that Wood River plane, it sure is better than the Taylor Tool 5 1/2 I have now. I look forward to your next video.

Hey, I want that Wood River plane . I have a couple of old Stanley planes but nothing of quality. Love that figured walnut, and that hounds tooth is crazy cool.

Ashley Iles has a nice 1/16” chisel, although I think it’s actually closer to 2mm. It’s part of the dovetail chisel line, but does not have the rounded top like the rest of the chisels in that product line. More like a standard bevel edge chisel. It might help you with those narrow pin sockets.

I am just putting the finishing touches to my new workshop and boy oh!!! that No.5 would be a pretty thing to enjoy working with... Love these houndsteeth Eric!!!!

Hey Erik, that Woodriver plane would be just the thing that might help me rectify my ineptitude with planes. Quality tools are hard to come by here in Turkey, which is always so frustrating. Love those dovetails BTW, real artistry there. Can't wait to see the finished product.
@jimrosson6702Ай бұрын
Amazing looking dovetails with the houndstooth hope that someday I’ll be able to accomplish this also as a new woodworker so much to learn but so excited to learn it all got chisels. Just need to start learning how to use them right and would love to add that wood river hand plain to my tools and learn how to use. It would be amazing. Thanks as always for the amazing videos and sharing your knowledge it’s helped me on my new journey.
@spittalmusicАй бұрын
I would also love the wood river plane. I’d make it a fancy wooden box befitting its status (dovetails with contrasting wood from my found wood collection; I can’t manage houndstooth yet), and gift it to my son on his birthday to start him off on the woodworking journey he doesn’t know he wants to go on yet. Ps, I’ll also take your mug, a t-shirt and the beard please

I'd love to toss my name in for the hat for the Windriver Plane. I accidentally came across your channel and I am so happy I did. I can see by the craftsmanship of what you've shown so far, that I will enjoy your channel. How do you only have 20 Subscribers?? I love the comment "take the time to learn the skill". Wife doesn't like my time in the garage, but I do. Eric, how do you only have 20 subscribers? I may have stumbled across a KZbin Gem. I've subscribed and I can say I am a ENCurtis O-G member. Keep it up, can't wait to see your other vids.👍👍

I’m not a fan of dovetails - and certainly machined dovetails. They seem to me to almost an ego medal between woodworkers. However, maybe perversely, I do like the aesthetic of houndstooth; perhaps more exaggerated than yours (which requires a thicker front piece and that has its own issues but I curve the inside of the front piece to lighten it) but I’m delighted that someone is talking about the creativity element; the need for patience to explore the limits of what each person is capable of. I see many pep,e would like the plane. And some of those want to add it to their selection. I’d prefer it to go to a youngster starting out or a person trying to find their way in life or a forces veteran. That’s how I give away my unwanted tools - and it makes me feel like I’m doing some good
@Control-FreakАй бұрын
Well said, I like the challenge of hand cut dove tails. I feel like I can be done before someone dials in a jig. I also like the idea of the plane going to an entry level young woodworker, pay it forward.

Hello - I'm collecting planes and other tools to start teaching kids the basics. So I'd love to have the plane and any other gear you want to donate. I'll take any old Stanley 5, 5 1/2, 4, 4 1/2, and spoke shaves as well!
