Glad to see you back! Maybe show how to connect the Orion XS to the Engine Running signal passing through an upfitter switch combined with a relay (CCP1). I know my suggestion is very precise but I didnt find any video on it 😂

I’d love to see some more specifics around the problem areas - working around the stock transit wiring harness (and its impact on the wall panels), more upholstery detail, tips for flooring cutouts, and the like. The broad strokes of getting your kits in are great (and were easy!) but the little stuff required some more thought.

These are good ideas! Thanks for the suggestions.

Wow, you have come a LONG way since I visited you in 2021 from Oregon. Love your shop and where you have taken your company. Looking forward to more of your KZbin videos and what you have to offer from your shop. Next time I'm driving thru I will definitely stop by.

Thanks for the update Matt. I drive right by your shop all the time when I'm working. It looks pretty modest from the outside but after seeing this, you guys have a lot going on in there!

We got that stealth shop vibe going currently. Needs some paint for sure! haha

We're in the middle of our build, using a bunch of your parts (floor, paper patterns, etc). Now that you're going into aluminum extrusion land, I would love to see tips on attaching extrusion to the van walls (thermal break or not... working around changes in wall depth... all transit issues). Also tips on attaching extrusion to your floor system (or through van floor if needed). We had to modify our metal pieces that came with your insulated floor kit (#1 behind driver to accommodate thick wires coming from alternator connection #2 a cutaway at rear edge of sliding door piece to fit flush 'cuz it was too long). We figured it out and it came out clean, but a video on potential mods would help customers. We also ran into some issues with LED light locations in the ceiling panels. They all hit at the beams which we weren't ready for since our lights are thicker than the panel. I think a more detailed explanation of that in a future ceiling video would help. A video on the lagun table bracket would be nice. The hardware received doesn't seem to match up with mounting that on the driver side... or I'm missing some info. We love all the parts we have received from you... now we're deep in the work of completing the installation. Oh, one more thing comes to mind. It would be great to have a video that explains the items that you REALLY want to make a decision about at the BEGINNING of your planning. For instance, well into our build, my husband now wants a heater and I'm concerned that the longer we wait in actually getting it, the more difficult the install will be. Glad your back into video production. I'm looking forward to your videos. Thank you!

As someone who has exclusively been using extruded aluminum to build custom van furniture for the last four years, your move to aluminum is a great one. If its 80/20, you might want to check out George's work at Humble Road. He builds exclusively with 80/20. We use a German system designed for industrial applications. It might be overkill for van upfitting, but there are good reasons why we use it. Its beautifully anodized and the finished product looks fantastic.
@TheMessiahKhan9 ай бұрын
@van_mod1 what is the German system you use? I'm about to order a load of 8020 from Germany, but open to other systems and ideas.

I wish there was more content on passenger van builds. There's very little content out there for building and working around the airbags and duct work. I know thats probably because its easier to do a cargo van but passenger vans are a good option too I think.
@AVCRIG9 ай бұрын
We try not to build them to be honest. There’s a lot of things to work around and it all ends up being custom. They definitely make sense for some folks and we have built a few over the years. If we get one in the shop I’ll be sure to shoot some general info and advice for building them.

I think something like this would be in our wheel house. There’s so much good technical content on batteries and electrical I don’t think I have much to add. Something van specific is a great suggestion though.

Thanks for the update! We may have to show up in Hood River now! Do you still sell the window frame kit for the full-size driverside CRL t-vent or AM Auto slider windows? I could only find the pill window version.

I will use this opportunity to say this. I have watched a few of your videos and they are very informative. But every time the same thought pops up. Why does he talk so fast? I have to pause and replay all through the video just to get things strait. Well there you go. No disrespect meant and thank you.

I do talk fast. Especially in early videos. Whenever I meet folks at trade shows they say “ you talk just like in your videos… fast” I’m thankful for the comment. And I will try to go a little slower in the future.
