They have an anti static model as well which you should def go with if you have the budget. Much better for sanding.
@Ray_Here9 ай бұрын
Yes they do. A bit more pricey. Thanks for pointing it out. Some may be interested.
@GianniStorti24 күн бұрын
Hello, could you explain me why the antistatic is better for sanding?
@tangodown272124 күн бұрын
@GianniStorti the fine dust causes static electricity build up as it sucks through the hose. You'll get shocked constantly the whole time sanding and it's also likely not good for the tool itself but I'm not sure how likely it would be to kill it. But you will for sure get shocked like crazy and it's not little shocks either they can hurt lol.
@GianniStorti24 күн бұрын
@@tangodown2721 really?? I've been through long sanding sessions sometime but I never experienced static shocks. Thank you for the reply and the info

Great idea! I just bid on, and won, a 35ft hose by the same company, which has a lot of attaching pieces. My winning bid was only 10 cents. I can't see how I could go wrong. This should work well with my shop vac. Thanks!

Wow! That’s awesome. If you don’t like it, I’ll give you a dollar plus shipping. That’s a 10x increase over your cost!!!

I saw a large drop in suction going with a smaller hose
@Ray_Here Жыл бұрын
The suction is fine. I’m sure that the length of the hose as well as a slightly smaller hose does have some impact.
@georgedennison3338 Жыл бұрын
You should see an increase in vacuum by decreasing the hose size. Have you checked for leaks, etc?

You screwed the ends on... that means a guy could make shorter hoses out of the 20 & still use the qk connects... I've been remodeling my shop this yr & I'm almost at the vacuum stage. I can't use a 20' because of the layout of my shop. I use shorter hoses in the crappy vac system I gave now. I made holders for the hose ends that effectively plug the hose so I can grab any of the 4 hoses, pull it out of the holder & hit the remote button. It works pretty good; the problem I've had is getting durable remotes. Think I'm gonna build something myself using wired relays in the new system & have a switch by each hose. Mebbe I can get tricky & use a micro-switch in the holder. I like the Cen-Tech hose; fighting hose plugs, (I work in wood & metal, which is a nightmare for plastic Shop Vac hoses.) Also good point about the exterior of the hose catching on things. My mantra on vac hoses & the only thing keeping me sane while using them is: If it can snag, it will snag; if it can get plugged, it will get plugged. It's kept me from piling it all in the yard & burning it for 40 yrs... LOL

Good stuff, George. I’m pretty sure Cen-Tec has a 10’ hose as well. I have cut the hose in half and it works fine. Your mantra is totally accurate! Thanks for the comment and sharing your thoughts. I also have a video about the Cent-Tec dust cyclone compared to others. You might want to check it out. Thanks again!
@georgedennison3338 Жыл бұрын
@@Ray_Here I bought a Cen-Tec last week, that's what put me on the look out for YT vids on their hoses. What irritated me a bit about there cyclone is the out/inlets on it don't match any of the 4 Shop Vacs, (3 brands), the nfo w/ it gives every dimension except the out/inlets AND when you go to there website they have a bunch of fittings, but not one of them is labeled "Cyclone". Then when you measure them, they are odd dimensions both inside & outside diameters. Frustrating as hell. I had a bad brain injury 20 yrs ago & struggle w/ compare & contrast and logic/deductive reasoning, anyway, but they aren't making it easy. Anything considered 'intuitive' has to beat me over the head, or it ain't intuitive. LOL I constantly wonder if companies ever test drive their instructions, product info & such.

@@georgedennison3338 Their hose kit has adapters that fit different shop vacs. It’s the screw on ones you saw me use. If you have any questions, give them a call. I have found them very helpful. Look on their website under standard QuiickClick kits. There is a Bayonet version that offers a 10’ hose and several adapters. Two of them should fit ant vac. Open occasion I have to use two adapters together. Good Luck!
