I am a collector of blue/white chinesoirie, staffordshire, and much more modern blue/white porcelain. I have been collecting it all my life or almost. I'm 71 and have four sets of blue/white china - from blue willow to blue canton. Also have a set of Spode Blue Bird which I mix and match with the other stuff all the time. I use it all. I just made the plate wreath you did recently and am in love with it, right down to the gingham ribbon. Your channel is a breath of fresh air for one who is so tired of gray and buffalo checks, the farmhouse style that is all over youtube. It's wonderful to see someone as young as you with such excellent traditional taste. I'm all for a bit of whimsy, but the "bones" for me are traditional. I bought my Johnson Bros blue willow at the grocery store 30 years ago and still adore it. It's my everyday china! LOL

Hello, Ms. Nancy! Thank you very, very much for your wonderful message. I loved it so much that I've pinned it to the top of the comments section so that everybody can read it. Your dish collection sounds absolutely MARVELOUS. I wish I could see it, though I can picture it in my mind. The patterns you have are gorgeous. The Spode Blue Bird, oh my goodness, how glorious! Would you consider emailing me a photo of your plate wreath? I sure would love to see it. Also, thank you so, so much for sharing with me how much you are enjoying my channel. It really means a lot to me. Sometimes, KZbin can be discouraging because it takes very much time, effort, and late nights to edit videos, and it can get frustrating dealing with the technical side of it. Having a small child at an "older" age, I am often exhausted at night, so sometimes I feel a bit depleted when a video doesn't do very well. But knowing that you really love what I'm creating on here really makes me feel good, so thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you have a beautiful rest of the week and "see you" in my next video! Xo! ❤️

I am a collector of dishes - I laughed that you said you weren't born in 1976 - I actually graduated from high school in 1976 and my husband and I were married in 1979. I love to thrift and have for years. I'm very blessed to have many sets of china/dishes passed down by relatives on both mine and my husband's side of the family. I probably have at least 20 sets of dishes - most that will serve 10 people or more. Early in our marriage my husband told me if I brought home any more dishes then me and dishes were going to be thrown out in the yard - but that was 42 years ago and I'm still bringing them home. I have dishes stuffed everywhere in my home. My grandmother inspired my love for dishes and it does my heart good to see young women like you, who love dishes so much. Nothing like a beautifully set table!!!!

I'm in Sweden, but I'm sure that this is true in the rest of the world as well: the most expensive china isn't the oldest, what people want to have and are prepared to pay for, is the china they grew up with. One designer who always cost a lot (although the prices are going down now) is Stig Lindberg, he did a lot of everyday patterns in the 60s and 70s (like Berså and Spisa Ribb, both are very popular in Japan too for example). The "fancy" china from back then, like those big bone china sets from the end of the 1800s, sells for very cheap (which means that you get lots of dishes and very good quality for very little money), people don't have the same memories with those, since they just sat in their cupboards most of the time. So I think your teacups have a good future ahead! Oh, and yes - I love buying tableware, it's one of my favourite things to thrift for! Unfortunately I'm only me, and hardly ever entertain, so I don't have use for a lot of tableware, but I too often can't resist them anyway... ^_^

You are not crazy! You were raised to appreciate and love pretty things. Just tell your husband they are an investment. I love how you give the history about the items you purchase. I have learned so much watching your videos. I enjoy your enthusiasm over your finds and that you are select about what you select. I can’t wait to see the wallpapered room. Saw a sneak peek on IG and it’s stunning! And your son 🥰. Thank you for sharing.

❤️Thank you, Carolyn!!!❤️ I appreciate your feedback very much and I'm so glad that you are enjoying my videos. One of the things I love best about thrifting and collecting vintage pieces is the history behind them. I used to loved the show Antiques Roadshow on PBS. I don't even know if it's on anymore, but I watch their KZbin videos, haha! Hope you have a lovely evening. XO!

My grandmother was given a set of liberty blue from her employer sometime in the 80 s. She didn’t care for it and I traded her for a set of white dishes with roses on them. My mom collected extra pieces for me and I used them for everyday dishes until my husband and kids started breaking them. So, I put them away and now, 40+ years later, I use them for special occasions. The cups were fragile and I had a lot of chipped ones I got rid of. But I have gravy boats, salt and peppers, cereal and fruit bowls, serving bowls and other odds and ends as well as regular plates and dessert plates. Love them!

Hi JustineMarie! I'm enjoying your YT Channel this Video is my 1st one and I'm meeting you for the 1st time today! Your comment about your husband not really caring for the idea of you collecting dishes. Tell him this is what makes really makes you "feel happy," and it brings you "joy" with each unique piece you bring home. Mention to him how you feel when you find special treasures at each thrift store And how delighted and happy you feel because you can use them in your home and you only paid pennys on a dollar! He obviously doesn't realize you may even find some grand pieces that have real value! But really what I wanted to say to you is when your husband matures (he'll become your cheerleader) he won't be so shallow he'll be happy for you to do all the things whatever brings you pleasure! Keep carring on..., do those fun heartfelt hobbies even if your husband is to young to understand your likes and desires. Good Luck 🍀

Aw, thank you, Chong! ❤️ So those pillows are actually covers and I got them from a seller named "Queenie" on Amazon. They are very nice quality, but they are limited in quantity, so some weeks they have them, some weeks they don't. If you go to my Amazon storefront link in my bio, I have the pillow covers listed under the heading "Pillow Shoppe." They have several different chinoiserie styles. I have ones in my bedroom that are pink embroidered tulips in blue and white ginger jars. They are stunning. I'll show them to you in an upcoming video. But yes, look up "Queenie pillow covers" on Amazon or go to my Amazon store and you'll see them. :)

The thrift store items and prices where you are are SO MUCH BETTER than Southern California. Most of what I'm seeing locally is absolute junk, but because I have "The Eye", I can discern what is better quality and what would work, because I'm picky. I'm a sucker for tea cups and tea sets and tea pots. I'm not a reseller. I can't decide where to put everything in my one bedroom apartment.

Hey there Justina! I’m here to explain why your husband doesn’t like you to buy plates and dishes! The usual attitude is that if you have dishes, why buy more? It’s a simple fact that some, if not most men, don’t truly understand why you want to buy more than you use. It’s really as simple as that! The idea of spending good money on something that you already own plenty of. It’s exactly as if he wanted to collect screwdrivers! You would probably feel like “Why does he need more screwdrivers when he has plenty already?” Doesn’t mean he’s not supportive, just saying he might not know what the value of butcher more china. 😂🎉😍 keep on keeping on!
