I love to stick to my regular posting schedule as much as possible... but some weeks life (and pregnancy) just get in the way! So thanks for being here... even if it is slightly later than normal. Would love to know - do you switch up some of your groceries for summer? Or right now, if you are going into winter in your part of the world? Soooo excited for all the grilling, salads for dinner, and corn on the cob over here!

I definitely switch up a lot of my meals during summer. Sub sandwiches, grilled foods with baked beans and cole slaw or macaroni salad are very filling also things like BLTs and broccoli salad and of course ice cream! So many different things for summer! Love your content. Can’t wait to see more summer fun! Can we have an update please? Is Madae coming soon? No peanut butter in this haul and no applesauce! You look great! Good job driving Belle!👏🏼

@@kris7200 of course, but the amount of cheese they buy for 12 people isn't that much at all. And remember they're buying a months worth of food at a time. They buy way more fruit/veggies than cheese (by far) and everyone harps on the cheese. It makes no sense

@ Kimberly Luciano... I agree! But I'm in just the mood to add to that just a bit... DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHERS THINK...PERIOD. You do what YOU DO for YOUR FAMILY. For those of us who watch all the time... we're here because we enjoy you & Solo & your family. WHAT you do, for the reasons you do those things... REALLY ISN'T, NOR SHOULD THEY BE UP FOR DISCUSSION! (IMHO) How about everybody go back a few years & remember what just about EVERY mom used to tell her kids: "IF YOU CAN'T SAY SOMETHING NICE... DON'T SAY ANYTHING AT ALL"!! I'm fed up with people always having some opposing opinion, some criticism over SOMEONE ELSE'S KIDS, marriage, you name it. If you spend your time minding YOUR business... you normally won't have time to mind everybody else's. End of rant... JUST BE NICE! I believe that people who are willing to share these videos with the whole world... actually have OTHER reasons for doing so... NOT because they're looking for criticism. JUST. BE. NICE!! GOD BLESS & HAVE A SAFE MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND... REMEMBER: This weekend is to REMIND all of us to be grateful for those who made & keep us free and for our first responders that do the same here at home - EVERY DAY... but have made the ultimate sacrifice. GOD BLESS THEIR FAMILIES THIS WEEKEND, AND EVERY DAY FOR THEIR SACRIFICE AS WELL. 🙏🙏🇺🇲🙏🙏🇺🇲🙏🙏🇺🇸🙏🙏🇺🇸

Sneaky mom trick, when no one is looking start mixing a little of the homemade ketchup in with store bought.. It's the sugar they taste the most and by mixing a little at a time they will slowly get used to it and as long as it is in the store bought container they will keep eating it.. Had a friend that did this with fresh from the cow milk and did it to her husband with changing to decaf coffee.

If you do smaller pints you could double stack with an additional rack on the 1st group of jars on the bottom. It's an additiinal purchase. There are a few people on KZbin that have great videos that showyou the steps Linda's Pantry, Heather@The kneady Homesteader, Bev @ Our half Acre Homestead. Many more! Watermelon selection: look for webbing-if present it indicates it was pollinated by a bee which makes it sweeter; there should be a large creamy spot where it sat in the field ripening which also indicates a sweeter melon. Love the Sam's Club scan & go app!! It makes shopping such a breeze. I never have my life together enough to plan a pick up order 😂. About the watermelons: believe it or not watermelons have genders. The round ones that resemble a basketball are female & supposed to be sweeter. The more oblong ones are obviously male. Look for a yellow spot as that supposedly shows that the watermelon was allowed to ripen on the vine. I've personally had better luck since learning these few tips.
@kayshelton2132
@kayshelton2132 3 жыл бұрын
I look for the yellow too! It’s called a “field spot” and it’s where it laid on the ground ripening on the vine. Also, the heavier “for its size” is usually sweeter and juicier. Thanks for the tip of oval VS round. Didn’t know that. Cheers!

Also... I give a couple knocks on them. They should almost have a thud for a sound. Not a perfect science, but the ones that sound sort of hollow, have usually turned out to be more mealy in texture. (You know... when you crave it, know better, but buy it anyway??)🤭🤭😁

Isn’t it nice that you now have kids old enough to drive and run errands for you. Many parents dread the teen driver time, but I relished it. I only had 3 but it helped so much for running errands. My oldest even taught the youngest how to drive. All 3 didn’t want their dad (he wasn’t very patient) to teach them. The reason the oldest taught the youngest (4 1/2 years older) was because I had had a car accident right before and my nerves couldn’t take it. It’s been over 20 years and I still get antsy with others if I’m not actually driving. It’s very difficult to apply the break from the passenger side 🤣🤣🤣🤣

A great snack is quarter Roma tomatoes, clean the seeds out, lay them on a baking sheet an sprinkle with salt, pepper, parmasean cheese and drizzle with olive oil, bake on 400 degrees for 25min. They are delicious 😋

As someone who lives in Germany, it really confused me to see you in the shop without a mask :'D What are the rules regarding the mask mandate where you live? Just curious, no judgement :)
@Jane_Snow_
@Jane_Snow_ 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lilly! In the U.S. it is a state-by-state mandate by the governor of each state. Following federal guidance, many states are dropping mask mandates for fully vaccinated people. It is honor system, which leaves many wondering am I to trust these people? As for me, I will be wearing my mask indefinitely. 😂

There are only 2 of us in our house most of the time, 3 right now while my daughter waits for her teaching certification to arrive. It is worth it for the fresh fruit and veggies alone. They have great produce, far superior to what I can get elsewhere. Also, their pharmacy prices are really good compared to elsewhere. I also buy all of our coffee, vitamins, and paper goods there. I watch the prices vs the store prices, and Sam's beats them every time. We just bought two lightweight comforters there for $19.99 each. Thick, heavy, 40 x 72 beach towel for $9.88. Sam's also has a free shipping for our business membership, so if I can't get to the local store, I just order it online and they deliver.
