Great Video, Awesome Content, Instant subscribe :) Just a quick question regarding Item ID vs Item SKU. Were you able to solve that issue for fetching item sku in GA4 ? It can be superhelpful for running reports on smaller subset of products with help of regex we can shortlist performance on those specific SKUs. I hope that make sense. Please let me know, if you were able to solve for that, would be very helpful. Thanks

Great vid, thanks! I'm going to implement your app GA4 app to bypass the post-purchase issue. Regarding the app, with this server side tracking and whilst using UTMs on my ads, would this record, and attribute to the correct ad, purchases from re-visitors who initally came from a UTM-tagged ad? Or is UTM tracking always last-click only? Apologies if I don't make sense, I'm new to tracking/attribution/analytics.

Thanks! Yes. Server-side tracking passes UTM parameters to GA4 and they should be processed by GA4 just like client-side events. GA4 has both first and last click attribution available.

One thing I noticed today is our site will send over the order ID for most orders, but if an order is protected by Shopify Protect, it will send the order number. Really confusing when looking for discrepancies

@@kevinmclaughlin178 We are seeing the same issue with Shopify checkout sending over order IDs in GA4. Did you find a solution or reason?

I was about to install your recommended GTM/GA Debugger chrome extension until it says it can CHANGE ALL THE DATA on your website. Could you please advise on this?
@kevinmclaughlin178 Жыл бұрын
To be clear, it's not our extension. But I imagine the reason why it needs those permissions is because it need to read the website and network requests to be able to see what's being sent to GA4. Although I'm not 100% sure. You could email the developer of the extension. You could also only enable the extension when you need to debug a site if you're concerned.
