There's several things that's been updated with Wix since this too - there's 24/7 live chat support from your site to Wix - There's also been great updates to multilingual stores, and their location auto detection for multilingual checkout for costumers. You can build it in HTML and CSS - and they have over 200 templates. Wix also have more payment options and allows multiple currencies as well - HOWEVER there's a lot of faffing around getting to some of the options and they could most certainly use some UI simplification.

Hi there. Shopify offers more features than Wix's eCommerce solution, which is why it's a bit more complex and you might need a bit more time to get into it. But it's logically structured and set up an online store is not really complicated. The ease of use is actually pretty good. Wix is a little bit more ahead regarding the ease of use though. Finally, what solution is more suitable depends a bit on what requirements you have :).

Even Shopify won. I still consider Wix is a better option for beginners. As a small business, the $13 a month plan sounds good enough for me. Thank you for your helpful information.

Hi there. Thanks for your feedback :). Wix is indeed very good for beginners and their plans are a bit cheaper. But Shopify actually has a little bit more and, in some cases, better eCommerce features. Plus although it has many functions, it's still pretty intuitive and not that complicated. In general, I'd say it depends a bit on your requirements, whether Wix or Shopify is the more suitable option :).

Wix seems ok Until they hold your payment from customers then tell you to submit documents for verification after which they don’t respond. Then when you try to refund the customer they charge you a fee of 170 usd then tell you you need to add money to your account to pay for the refund. I’ve used wix and it seems like a scam

With the lower transaction rates and easier DIY setup of Wix (i.e. also cheaper), does it make sense to start with Wix and then migrate to Shopify as our inventory grows? Or do you recommend just going with the long-term platform from the beginning? TIA...

Not sure what he'd recommend, but honestly if you're going to start that small, I'd say start with squarespace. You can always migrate over to shopify later once you've grown.

great video thank you. Now i know Shopify offers an option to link-up the terminal payment for physical events or shops to the website general stock management. And it comes quite handy when you're too busy writing all your ins and outs on busy pop-up days, it just updates stocks automatically when selling. As for myself, I've been working on a wix template until now but i'd like to know if there's an equivalent to that, linking-up let's say I-Zettle (maybe?) terminal payment to my website stocks? anyhow? Don't know maybe another company than I-Zettle does it? That would make one hell of a difference. Otherwise i'm considering switching to Shopify which is more expansive for that reason only....Annoying really. Thank you so much for your reply! =)

Thanks for your comment. Yes, Wix does allow you to set up terminal/POS payments, and will automatically update your store's inventory. WIX, has everything. If you need something make a suggestion and they will eventually get around to it. They really do listen their customers. In the U.S. they are always available 24/7. They call you back. WIX is constantly growing and building new partnerships and sometimes they let you the user test out these new options before the general public or a price is added. They are now beta testing with e-bay. You will connect your site to sell to customers on E-bay, that is great. I don't know Tester folks, but WIX has it going on. [Revisit in order] They are supportive to your business goals. Shopify is good too, but you get so much more with WIX for your $$$.

Hi Thea. Sure, because Shopify has all these options it can be a bit of a, somehow, complex platform to learn for some. But I would suggest you to invest a couple of more hours to see if you get used to it. I would say it's not a difficult system to learn, so I would be confident that you can learn the basics and launch an online store with it. But if you aren't convinced, checking other solutions like Wix would be a good idea.

Hi Alyssa, that really depends on a few factors - how big your store will be, what features you need, how big your budget is etc. One thing worth noting though is that both Wix and Shopify use templates - they can be modified, but it just means you might not be able to use the exact design you want. Wix does not close a storefront but there are ways to prevent people checking out, they are working on it . Ecwid on Wix doesn’t allow qty control unless you upgrade.

Wix is an fantastic and is growing quickly. My biggest issue with Wix so far has been the lack of capability with 3rd party softwares. They have a great support team that will get on calls with you and try and handle your issues as you grow, but I do wish 3rd parties integrated better.

For instance, Klaviyo reps will not have a conversation with you because their software does not integrate well. I have found that many softwares have not integrated well. Outside of this, I love Wix. They are working fast to improve and their team is phenomenal. I have built a 7 figure business on their platform. The one major drawback has been this though.

However, you could look into Wix Corvid as with their API (if you are a programmer) you could try to integrate something, but I would not know how to do this. Sorry, but Wix lets you customize your site however you want with drag-and-drop and embed features. You can essentially built your site however you want. it's literally endlessly customizable.

Design-wise it pretty much is. But have you tried adding checkout in multiple currencies, for example? If you want to build a really advanced store you may hit some roadblocks when it comes to customization.

One important thing you didn't mention: Shopify only allows you to make ONE page with full features and graphics (your other pages really suck, with only one photo and all text), whereas Wix allows you to make any number of pages you like with full everything. At least that's my first experience with both back in 2018 unless I was missing something or things have changed???

Hi there. If you are only going to sell 2 products, perhaps Wix is a better option (because it's a bit cheaper). However, if you wanted to grow your online store, I think Shopify would be better. You can try both for free and see which one you like better.

I can't deny that Wix is powerful in making beautiful websites, but if you are aiming at developing an advanced shopping website, Wix is just not the choice. Hi there. Wix is indeed a powerful tool and suitable for beginners that don't have a lot of knowledge on website building yet or for users that want to save some time. Also, I don't think their eCommerce solution is bad. They have a lot of useful features. What is the case though, is that other alternatives like e.g. Shopify, can offer a bit more functions. And Wix is rather suitable for smaller to midsized online stores. If you're looking for more features or are planning on creating a bigger online store with many products, other providers like Shopify are probably more suitable. In the end, it depends on your scenario, which choice is the best for you :).

What is the significance of website storage? Essentially, is it just a limit on how many products you can put on the site at once?

Hi Brian. OK, I'll try to explain. Website storage is about how many files you can store on your website. When you upload images and videos to your website, that's what takes up the most space because the file size is bigger. So if e.g. each product has many images or videos associated with them, then the more products you add, the less space you have left in your web storage. The actual products entered into the database don't take a lot of web space, it's the files associated with the products that do. I hope this helps.

You can set up a weight of the dimension you're mentioning for products with Wix already, so it depends probably a bit on what other features you need, whether Shopify or Wix is the better option for you. Hi there. I would recommend either Wix or Squarespace as they are good to sell digital goods (e.g. books) online. If I am not mistaken, you'll need an external app to sell subscriptions with Shopify, it's not built-in the system; selling digital products with Shopify is not a problem. Hi Imani, if you have ambitions that grand, personally I would go with Shopify! In an international context I think you'll have many advantages (multilingual shop, multi-currency, more integrations etc.).

Wix because you can do great blog posts about your clothes to generate traffic. That's how they started as website host for Bloggers and then moved on to eCommerce to help fashion designers/ bloggers sell their clothing. If you take off big just call them and ask for their Enterprise package most of these website hosts have that type of packages. Good Luck!

I've use Shopify, GoDaddy, and now Wix. GoDaddy was a bit frustrating when it comes to customization. Between Shopify and Wix I would say Wix might suffice if you are just selling 10 items.

Hi Daniel, I think in this case you should indeed go for Shopify or maybe WooCommerce even. There you should find templates and plugins that allow you to do that.

Hi there, no, you can only use Wix themes on Wix. That being said, you do get a lot of flexibility with Wix so you can customize them as much as you like.
