First, let me say that your hair looks SO pretty and I love your shirt. It's fun to see all of your finds. I love hearing what you said about being better at one thing each year. I've had a vegetable garden for 39 years. The last few years, I've had trouble with some of my vegetables, I have a hard time growing beautiful flowers like my friends. I'm feeling discouraged because I can't grow beautiful flowers without my dog digging in them, etc. I have to stop comparing myself to them and remember that there are things I can do well and things they do well. Your Bible was a great find. Love the blue cover and I also like the NIV version. It's easier to understand.

This was my first year gardening in Zone 8 Louisiana. It went okay. The best thing is that I learned what I did well, but also what I need to do better next spring. I was going to plant a fall garden but I broke my ankle 😅. So now I’m just studying and preparing for next spring. It will be better! Don’t give up!

Thank you for another inspiring video, Kristen! You asked about the American Doll Books. My daughter’s had several of the books when they were young & they enjoyed reading them… over & over. The youngest of my two daughters is now 29 yrs. old (a Nurse, married, no children yet) & she getting ready to part with her American dolls & all of the beautiful outfit sets, the books, etc. It’s difficult to think of seeing these things go as I still so clearly remember my parents buying & giving many of these things to our girls throughout the years for Christmas & Birthdays! ‘twas JOY! ~So thankful the joy still shines brightly in the way of memories! Hi Kristen, please don't feel like a failure with your garden. I have learned that gardening depends on so much more than just you. The soil conditions, the weather, the amount of wind that you get, and it can differ from year to year. One year may be good for something and the next it won't grow at all. Very competent seasoned gardeners will tell you that. Btw, one thing you are VERY good at is putting your antique home together, I love your style, it is gorgeous!

From a 50 year old woman that has 3 kids and 3 grands, don’t compare. My Mimi said you will always find someone doing better and worse than you. Everyone is on the journey and some of us are at diff places on the road. I own my own photography business and been doing it by myself for 14 years. I just trained a girl that is 20 years younger than me and it has been life changing. She has diff approaches to things, she has a young vision that is refreshing. She is quicker with technology, tik tok lol, she’s very smart and creative but in a diff way than me. She also has learned so much from me being in the business for so long and how to handle things that come up with clients. She tells me i took her from no business confidence to feeling very assertive and knowing her worth. Two brains are always better than one. Differences in who we are make this world a better place. I’m so blessed to have her and my clients love her. Just the mama coming out in me. You are great at what you do! Watching you girls fellowship and enjoy a passion you share is fun to see. Us women need to have wonderful relationships to reach our full potential.

The print "Whistler's Mother" that you found has an interesting story. When Whistler was starting, the model he chose did not show up so his mother sat for the painting!!! My daughter's American doll dream.was to own Molly the 1945 Era doll. We couldn't afford to buy her one and we used to get catalogs in the mail of the dolls and she would play with the catalog making the dolls talk to each other. It broke our hearts. We saved up and eventually got her molly doll.we all had tears in our eyes that day. My daughter is now 40 years old and we often wish we still had molly.

That Bible is absolutely beautiful and so usable. Dang about the green mark. I've watched Amy for years and have followed you for a while and now I subscribed to Andreas channel. Your decorating is unique in that you aren't doing all "the cookie cutter homes" that no longer look like homes but places of business. I'm 68 and have been collecting for a very long time and am very eclectic. I loved all of y'alls videos and finds. I have now subscribed to both Amy and Andrea’s channels. Now I can spend more time on You Tube. I know Amy is living in Ohio. Which is where I lived until four years ago. I now live in Georgia. And maybe the reason your garden didn’t make it was the weather. This has been the hottest summer since we moved here. I’m hoping it cools down soon. I saw some of the prices at the first antique store. And they were kind of pricy. I’m used to thrift store prices too. There are a few antique stores in the small town close to us. And I have to remind myself they are antiques not someone else’s donated items.

I love that you bring color into your home. True country homes would not have been all white because of the manual labor that went on outside the home, the dust from the unpaved roads, and the smoke from the wood and coal fires. Kristen, as a 61 year old stay at home mother of 4 (my baby is now 28) and now a Mimi to 5 wonderful grandbabies I can tell you honestly that you are doing a wonderful job. I would also like to tell you that being good or great at something is all just perspective. You doing your best and the end result not living up to your expectations is not failure. Failure is the lack of trying at all. God gives us many talents but our purpose is much more important than our gifts or talents. You are being the best you, mother, wife, friend, servant of the Lord you can be. That is what you should strive for. We do often compare ourselves to others but trust me, that grass is not always greener and most of the time has shallow roots. With the first flood it will wash away. So, keep being your wonderful self and try not to worry about anyone else. They are not the ones needing you day in and day out like your friends and family. God bless

Try Rub N Buff metallic wax in one of the gold tones to take the shine off the metal edge of the frame and give it an aged look. If you don’t want it to be shiny, just wait until the next day to buff.
