Ever time I see RF only sets I wonder what happened to that open source CRT chassis project Bob spotlit a few years back?

Hot chasis need a big fan in CRT.

I've always been curious about the zap you could get so it was awesome you'd show that. But I'm still curious, if you got zapped by that first big one would it just hurt or could it have been more serious?

I got a freebie, panasonic tc-2173RE beautiful condition, wood case. No image on the screen, found the manual online at Russian crt forum. Its rf and composite, with a hot chassis from what I saw from the manual. I don't think it has an osd or can be rgb modded unfortunately. Hopefully I can at least get it running again.

I just wait for bulk pick up in my area and I find great TVs a couple times a year

Bulk pick up? Is this like a trash day that is for big items?
@flexingmecha2 сағат бұрын
@@Hyperion856 yeah and you can usually find a few crts laying around. Couple days ago I picked up a Sony kv 32fs120 in great shape. Missed out on this tiny magnavox because I kept telling myself I have a bough crts which was a lie.

Love it! Steve, for good geometry that has good, non-wavy or wobbly scrolling, for Sony - what model/s would you recommend? (ideally 32")

I have a similar philips set, the ts2774 c101. Should accept an rgb mod fairly easily. I also added a switch to toggle between the luma and cvbs pins for sync. It looks fantastic, especially compared to my Sharp and JVC tvs. It was the first crt that I ever modded, and also the first one that zapped me lol

I recently at goodwill got a GE 27" from 2002 for $3. Unfortunately the tube was shot it was so blurry you could not read the TV ms OSD and was extremely dim. So I took it to E-wast. I prefer TV's like that old zenith rather then the later ones from 1995-2000s.

I use a sharp 25" RF only set from the early 90s I think judging by the OSD it uses as type that early 90s sharp TV's use. Most of my CRT TV's are RF only so I need to get some more RF adapters. I normally find them at thrift store for cheap.
