I'm going shopping at my main source for large and odd projects, and I bring a camera along so you can see some of the cool stuff, too!
Not everything here is for sale, but a lot of it is. If you see something you can't live without, you can contact Skipper at adobedrilling@hotmail.com

That guy has been busy! I feel that if I had a junk yard (which I really would like to have one btw) it would be organized i. Similar fashion. He is a wealth of knowledge and seems like a really nice person. I hope his business flourishes. Get that man a web designer, some catalog skills and a shipper... he would be sold out in no time. What great place, I see why you like to go there.

International built some tough trucks. At 17 my friend Don got a brand new 1969 Scout to run his paper route with. It had a 110hp 4cyl, 3 sp floor shift, locking rear rear diff and 80% limited slip front w/ Studded Goodyear Suburbanite Snow tires. It went just about anywhere and it was indestructible. We purposely drove it into ponds and creeks trying to get it stuck. When we got it stuck, we took turns trying to get it unstuck. With Rev and 1st inline w/ each other it was real easy to ram it in Rev and then 1st trying to keep any momentum we'd got going. We used to think Rev was syncro'd cuz it never ground. Sometimes we had to pull it out with a tractor, but all we had was a tiny little Ford 8N, so we had to jerk pretty hard on it to get it out. One day while we were at the International dealer I asked the manager where we should hook on it to pull it out. He told us to pull it out by one of the spring shackles. His words to us were " If you can break that spring shackle International will give you a brand new Scout." It never broke. We couldn't break that Scout. We rolled it 300' and when it stopped it landed on it's wheels. The only thing that broke was the distributer rotor, or we would have driven it out of there. Don's gone now, Rip Don. Thanks for the memories. Jimmy, Jimmer & Ben are still around to tell the tale.

Your buddy is a character for sure. That place reminds me of my grandpas lot in escondido, back when I was a very young tyke. The old guy reminds me of my grandpa. My grandpa wasn't near as organized. Nor as sober as this guy. He has a gold mine of stuff. I have a neighbor who has pieces stored a lot like this. Fortunately, our pinon pines bring privacy. He calls himself a "pilot". Spelled "pile it". There is something about New Mexico that brings out the "pile it" in a person. There are "pile its" all over the state, we have found. Another great episode.

Skipper is quite the character. He would rather trade then sell from what I've dealt with. My buddy is trading a sweet old 40s Mack truck for a lathe from him. Never been to his yard even though I live down the street from him. Maybe I ought to go pay him a visit. Trade him a plane for a truck.

Just what I see discarded in my little New Hampshire town both makes me sad and happy. For example the vintage Kitchen Aid dishwasher that got crushed before I could stop it. Sad face. Window AC in woodgrain that now hums like a kitten and matches my refrigerator, microwave and dehumidifier also thrown away. Happy face.

I am sure glad that I don't live near there. :-) That is quite an interesting yard and. he sure knows his stuff. A lot of equipment, that I have never seen before. I loved the fact that he appreciates the good steel used to make those saw blades. I always had my eye out for that type of scrap made from good steel. Young people, only think of buying from the supplier, it sure adds to the cost of a project. My brother in law, had an 8,000 lb PTO Ramsey winch on his 65 Ford, and that thing was awesome. I am still using an early 70s Warn 8000, which is indestructible.

We've talked about selling it but and happy just the right thing. Been in the family forever. On any case thanks for showing us your friend's yard. He is so well organized.
