It’s also not dangerous diving in 100ft of water, that depth would require no tank or air change, only several safety stops

Cam Clark yea but u couldn’t do much at the depth. U can go down no prob but you’ll have to come back up soon, so it’s pointless if u don’t use a tank.

I remember seeing the a 'very rare triggerfish' (as described by one of the guys working there) in one of the tanks in that rare fish room. It wasnt until a couple of days later that I chanced upon an article on the deepwater triggerfish (Rhinecanthus abyssus) and how extraordinarily rare it was, that i realised that was the exact fish they had in the tank! A subsequent visit revealed that it was indeed the Rhinecanthus abyssus. That particular specimen was at the time (if i remember correctly) only the 4th in captivity in the world, and was retailing for over $4000! Truly an amazing place, so cool to see it featured. love your vids man, you are the one that inspired me to keep fish in my uni dorm room too :')

@@ojinga the amount of evaporation on some tanks you don't need to do water changes if you have an elaborate enough filter system. I'm not really familiar with saltwater but fresh water I don't do any water changes. I drip in fresh RO water all the time to compensate for evaporation and have a 10x turnover rate for my filters in all 4 of my tanks. I also have lots of live plants. So under the right conditions it's not necessary to do water changes

Most saltwater fish are took from the wild using explosions to blow up the coral and scare them into nets, Clown fish and Cardinals are a very rare example of saltwater fish being bred
@zeynepcecen4978
@zeynepcecen4978 4 жыл бұрын
I disagree, these days there are tons of fish being captive bred (gobies, tangs, angelfish and even invertebrates such as clams).
@zeynepcecen4978
@zeynepcecen4978 4 жыл бұрын
I would also never buy damsels as they are VERY agressive towards tankmates and usually the other fish die as a result.
@woolensnail2584
@woolensnail2584 4 жыл бұрын
@@gfaj4076 people believe damsels are related to cichlids so thus share their aggressive behaviour but I think chromis are a good replacement as they look somewhat similar as for this guy zeynep cecen who thinks he knows everything all the animals you have just mentioned are never captive bred, gobies have a larval stage which often makes them impossible to breed freshwater gobies even more so, blue tangs which are the most common of all tangs are caught from the wild using the explosion trick, angel fish, by this point it feels like a joke because they are never bred and group into the same category as tangs and shrimp are the only invertebrate that are really bred because they are simple and easy
@hunterhicks3515
@hunterhicks3515 4 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing. There should be breeding attempts before selling to the public. I hate the idea we take from the wild to sell for a rediculous price. Also I can't imagine how the animals feel. Stay with freshwater!
