A wonderful diet for a pet tortoise. Similar to mine, except I don’t eat hay. I replace that with grains and legumes. Tiptoe’s pink tongue is cute, healthy and strong! Love watching T eat and manipulate that tongue and beak! ❤️🐢❤️

I’ve been unsuccessfully looking for aloe vera in the local grocery stores, and that’s the first thing you pick up! Aloe vera juice might be an alternative! Lucky TipToe!😂😮

this might be a silly question, but how do you know if he's eating enough or too much? I have cats so thats obvious if I'm over feeding them, do they gain too much weight or do they stop when they're full?

I’ve only seen him deny food a handful of times… he could eat all day. He eats about the size of his shell in hay daily that he can graze on and then a bit of a dark leafy green. A few times a month I’ll make him a fun meal out of veggies + a fruit or two

I dumpster dive and retrieve veggies and fruits. The mgrs don't mind, and one box store has 100s of pounds they dispose of every week. My turtle loved pan cakes , spaghetti, and hard dog food. If I had a way of P.M. you I'd tell you were to get the free food. I give the food to deers, raccoons, rabbits, and my friends' horses .

Hi Caitlin, I've been following you and Tiptoe for a couple of years now and I'm convinced I'd want a Tiptoe of my own. Before I do so, what are the estimated costs that come with feeding such a cutie the size of their shell when they reach Tiptoe's age?
