I think that it is especially important to show how much work goes into the daily care that such a lovely tortoise requires. I have a 25 year old Red Eared slider and even My little guy takes four to five hours of work weekly. That doesn't include tank water changes. Turtles and tortoises are NOT low maintenance companions.

Ideal for Tiptoe, maybe, but not so much for Caitlin. In a perfect world, yeah, b/c I know C. Loves her TT and wants the best for him. That said, it’s not a perfect world. Two TTs would be waaaay too much to handle. That would require twice the living space, an entire 2nd turtle house +equipment, double the pool size, a new car solution for transport-if the right car is even out there, probably *quadrupal* the caretaking, and the walks around the neighborhood would be impossiblplus more I can’t even imagine! No, TT is better off like he is for sure!

oh caitlin honey as a sulcata mom too among a redfoot,red eared slider,mud turtle,russian tortoise i know how much work you do, alot of people think its just as easy as feeding them and walking. away,but they are worth it,all my shell babies except my mud turtle cause she's still to small love cuddling and hiding in blankets,especially when i put the blankets in the dryer and make them nice and toasty,so i see king TT adorned his royal robe for the public to enjoy,you are so classy TT,stay warm caitlin & TT💚🐢👑🌞🌞🌞

How did you get him to eat Hay?? My Gustavo is 4yrs old and he won’t touch it. I’ve even chopped it up and mixed in with his leafy greens and he will not touch it.

He used to detest hay!! You could try soaking it in water for a little to soften it or even throw it in a blender so its more of a powder and make a pile. We would also hide strawberries in Tiptoe's hay hahah. They are SUCH picky eaters thats for sure

Your produce bill must be high! I used to work in a supermarket in the produce department and people would ask us all the time for food donations for their pets and we were happy to oblige! Especially from me since I set up the salad bar! Outer lettuce leaves that were trimmed off, carrot peels, etc. All organic! No one said that they had a tortoise though! Mostly rabbits! You should try asking!

From what I have seen recently some of the Sudanese ones get over 300lbs! I cant even imagine. I have a Mali Sulcata hatchling who is already quite the eating machine at his small 125 gram stature! lol Love the videos, cheers!
