What up Chris. Great video. I am living in district 10 on Ly Thurong Kiet. We usually shop at Co Op Mart or Lotte Mart. My wife makes vietnamese meals, and so far, nothing that I wouldn't eat. We spend less than 1 million when we shop, and we get some meats from the street market. We have Bang Pia with tea in the mornings.

Same with the An Phu western supermarket in Thao Dien. They take a long time to sell the goods so frequently the goods will be a long time past their 'sell by date' or 'expiry date'. Particularly the perishable items so it's a good idea to check that like you are doing. It is nice to have some western goods because solely eating vietnamese food does get repetitive/boring and its a nice change even though the Vietnamese food is quite a bit cheaper.

Hi Chris we have an MM Mega Market up the street from us great place for meats and cheeses and they even have Kirkland chicken stock and a few other things

I see a lot of Great Value stuff on the shelves. I assume they get their stock directly from a Walmart somehow because Great Value is Walmart's in-house generic brand.

was there in April and noticed how much more expensive things have become out there since covid... I know everything is going up all over the world but the % increase in VN seems a little higher than some other places.. but they do 200% import tax on almost everything over there... if you buy only western food it can be very expensive there... if you can live on Asian food most of the time you can still live very modestly.. but that whole 'can I live there on $1k a month' is almost over! eventually it will be more expensive to live in Asia than in the west.. maybe another 10yrs or so... they catching up fast!!!
