Hello Olga You did a fantastic job on making this video, very informative and detailed. Thank you for taking the time to show us the inventory and prices. My husband and I are planning to move to turkey, Antalya very soon and was doing some research on where to find a nice affordable apartment ..which area in or near the city center to live, as we won't have a car to get around at the beginning. We are currently living in the Bahamas, which has a very high cost of living. Can you please suggest a few areas for us to live, rent an apartment. Great Olga 👍 major difference i found between metro and costco is of course the variety of goods and also the ease of obtaining membership. Metro in Germany is a bit cumbersome getting membership, so is costco in the UK. Its much easier becoming a member in Turkey 😁. I wish Costco would setup in Turkey well perhaps in the future 🤷‍♂️ thanks for the video.👍

Yes, in Turkey you just need to ask for the card and they give it to you free of charge and no obligations

Really great video. I appreciate you showed all the prices although I wished you would of showed more fruits and veggies prices. Would you consider this store a little more expensive that the average Turkish store? I was surprised that some items were a little bit more expensive than I thought like rice, and even some fruits and veggies. Turkey is still very cheap compared to some other countries. The cost of food has gone up so high here in Canada. Thanks again.

I am wondering, how METRO compares to other malls? AFAIK this is international German retail market. Are there discounters in TR? Where should one buy his groceries, I thought bazaars are the right place?

Prices in Metro are similar to other big supermarkets. Bazaars in Turkey are good, and shopping there is also a great way to support local farmers. But sometimes it can be more convenient to get everything in one place, like in a big supermarket:)

Thank you for the video . Although metro is considered an inexpensive and convenient market , prices seem no to be low enough for Turkish. I wonder how people really survive there ? I am trying to compare Turkish prices with those in Greece and the difference is not that huge. Meanwhile lowest salary in Turkey is somewhat 250$. Wow

local currency is devaluating, that’s why the min salary in usd is so low. but a lot of food/clothing is produced inside Turkey, I guess that’s the reason the prices are low (in usd). Although I’m not an economist, so I don’t know for sure. In Greece everything is in euro. When I was there back in 2020 the prices in groceries seemed quite high to me, I was wondering how local working class people live with prices high like that. I guess for working class it’s hard everywhere.
