When I was younger I though that wearing pink was “too girly” and that in order to be unique I had to wear blue. As I got older I learned that that was just societal expectations that were forced on me. A lot of people think pink and girly = weak. Younger girls a lot of the times want to be tomboyish and like blue because boys are preferred and treated better in society. But now that I’m older, I realized pink is such a flattering and powerful color. And liking it does not make me “basic” or “weak”. So now it is one of my favorites. And I am so glad that Niki has started liking pink because it is very flattering on literally every skin tone and it looks great with her hair.

I had the same conversation with my younger brother the other day because he was talking about how he likes purple. He said it was just a really cool color and he like it and boys think it's stupid. I told him purple is a sign of royalty and power, so why is purple deemed as lesser than other "boy colors"? I have found society has a large impact on how we experience color.
