Shopping Trolly Lock Picked & Gutted

Supermarkets use shopping trolley locks to prevent shopping trolleys traveling long distanced from supermarkets. By asking the customers to insert a coin to use the trolly. The coin remains locked into the coin lock while the trolly is in use. Once the trolly is returned and the lock is clipped into the accompanying trolly, you will be able to remove your coin. In this video, we will open up a coin-operated trolly lock and see how the mechanism works. Once we have established the working mechanisms we will find other ways to lock and unlock the coin lock using something else other than a coin. In short “How to Pick A trolley Lock”

I've always used the ''key'' that opens a can of Spam, a bit of a jiggle and you're off - I'll try the reverse Lockwood key trick and find an old key and drill a hole in the tip for the ring. Good video - thanks.

I was watching the kids honestly they were using the back of a Lockwood key pushing it in getting the dollar out they would have been about 7 or 8 years old cleaning up they made me smile worked a treat..lol

hold on a second! in Australia they charge you a dollar to use a cart, or trolley to shop. I would be bypassing that thing as well.

Yes, then they save money on employees to collect them, it's a win-win for the shop. I feel Costco is worst, they charge me $55 a year to shop with them

@@DrLockShop For a lot of kids here in the states, collecting the carts is a first job. Costco well we have them here also. I don't shop there.

You actually showed the simplest solution and then moved away from it. It's the Lockwood key. I did the same as you years ago and discovered that if you file the ring hole of the key down, it makes the perfect trolley key. Just drill a small hole at the narrow end and keep it with the rest of your keys. I call it the 'dick and balls key' for reasons which will become obvious after you file the ring hole down. You don't have to buy a blank either, just use an old key. And for the times when I didn't have my dick and balls key, I just politely asked the nearest staff member to unlock one for me. Cheers

Thanks to the folks stealing carts, we all now have to take courses on safe cracking, to use a shopping cart? funny how the homeless think it is their right to take 100.00 carts for their personal use?
