I have used it several times since this video and i like it more every time. Its a little fiddly to get it adjusted but i am happy with the results. My only comment is that like most cutting tools, it often will cut better with the grain of the wood so if you get a ragged cut one way, flip over the wood and try it the other way.

I think one or two passes with a classic #5 smoother or #6 jointer hand plane could make that edge ideal.

Hate to be "that guy," but do pay mind to where your hands are. That board can kick out in an instant leaving your hands only one place to go. I can show you how I know... My 10ER taught me but good! Thanks for a great and informative video on this ancient attachment.

I have known a lot of those "That Guys" over the years, it never hurts to listen. Its probably why I still have all of my fingers and toes, that and the Grace of God.
