I got it back in July. Have been using 5 to 6 days a week. And most days it's 1.5 tubes a day some days 3 tubes. Greasing anything from a skidder to bulldozer to a excavator. Mostly muddy conditions. Personally I love it. Battery life is really good. And always unscrew the tube a few turns before pulling the handle back. And yes it's a little aggravating with the tubs not seating all the way down but I have gotten use to it now.

Thanks I plan on using it for heavy equipment at work. I’m tired of the manual grease guns.
@jamespeaden7862 Жыл бұрын
@@ChrisLawley43 year later it’s still going it’s probably worked out to be about a tube a day. Still some days it’s 2 to 3 tubes a 5.0 battery will go about 2 weeks on a tube a day

love the my Makita grease gun! The new cartridge will stick out a bit...just insert whole spring loaded holder in and push n turn till thread catches. Works like a charm!!!

I got one.. I love it, only issue I had was grease was getting on the backside of the plunger.. swapped it out with a plunger from an old hand pump gun and fixed it. Haven't heard of anyone else with this problem, they might have forgotten the rubber bit on assembly and I got unlucky, either way no biggie Edit: yeh definitely didn't get the rubber cone like yours has just had the plastic backing.. will have to ring the tool Shop and see if they can get it for me

How common are grease fitting on cars and light trucks now a days? My '65 Corvair has several. I don't recall any other cars I've owned having them.

Do they offer this in a 12v and/or 40v model now? I’ve had great experience with the 20v Dewalt but I would like to try this in the future for a change .
@jayquick65203 жыл бұрын
Makita’s 12 volt line is awesome. The price to performance is spot on. You could fill your garage with very capable tools for a fraction of the price going with the 12 volt CXT line up. The cordless ratchet, sawzall, impact and drill all impressed me. Makitas 1st gen CXT impact was the strongest and fastest out there upon its release. Same with the ratchet that you can switch heads on from 1/4 inch to 3/8. They were leading the way in innovation but have slowed down drastically since then. You’ll get the occasional release of an already existing tool but with a brushless motor and different modes. The innovation and competitiveness just isn’t there for their CXT line anymore. The more they see sales go up I think the more we’ll see them get their competitive edge back. Because it’s kind of just been them releasing cool and capable 12 volt stuff and Milwaukee releasing their own more powerful variant of it lol. I wouldn’t blame Makita if they put the CXT line on the back burner and concentrated on their 40 volt line and specialty tools. I’m invested in their CXT line up but often kick myself when I see the Milwaukee 12 volt offerings and the same old Makita stuff month after month. If I knew I’d never see a 12 volt Makita band saw or copper tubing cutter I’m sad to say it but would probably abandon team teal for team red. That’s been my experience thus far with the CXT line. I’d love to see another team teal member help inspire the Makita engineers to get off their behinds but the 12 volt line up of other companies are just drastically larger and still growing.

Still don't quite understand why the grease tube would not insert all the way. The other battery grease guns I've used allows the tube to insert all the way. Obviously the rubber follower is fitting in the tube else it wouldn't flow grease. Very confusing.
@brettwalkom9483 жыл бұрын
I'd say the plunger is cocked over inside the tube when it's in that position.. so when you release the rod it lines up again
