It's important to point out that the tightening torque does not equal to loosening torque. I forgot where I read it, but I remember reading somewhere that it takes roughly 70% to 75% of the tightening torque to loosen a bolt. That means if a bolt was tightened to 550 ft-lbs, then it would take only about 390 ft-lbs to loosen that bolt.

I would be curious as to why this shouldn’t be used to remove lug nuts. I didn’t hear a valid reason other than “trust me on this”. Is there something specific that would damage the tool. Good review…Thanks.
@Shoptoolreviews8 ай бұрын
With an impact driver, you're limited to the power that the 1/4" hex shaft (on the adapter) can take. Also, rarely do all the lug nuts reflect the applied torque 3 months, 6 months, or 1 year after they've been installed. Furthermore, many tire shops just run the lug nuts on with an air powered impact wrench on high, over-torqueing the nuts. Adding to the issue, season changes add corrosion possibilities. All of these things, and more, make it not a good candidate for an impact driver to remove lug nuts. Thanks for watching.

I use the gen 3 and 4 everyday installing ductwork and setting commercial HVAC. These drive modes are 100% useless and obnoxious. Not only do they have a mind of their own and randomly change (not tool specific either) but the anti-strip mode gives you No power to get your self tapper in. You can strip a #10 screw if you have no throttle control on 3 or your going in thin sheet metal. This is the only time i might set it on speed 2. I settled on a gen 3 fuel this black friday as the drill & impact were $120 cheaper than a gen 4 @ $400. There's a lot more going on than what it looks. These nuts/bolts are greased each time we test, so the threads are in near-perfect condition. There is no corrosion and there are no imperfections. Lug nuts on wheels are quite the opposite. To keep this brief, I'll try to explain differently. Swing a 12 oz. ball peen hammer and a 12 lb. sledge hammer. They may both deliver 5,000 psi of force. The ball peen does this over the size of a pencil eraser, and the sledge hammer over the size of a soda can. The sledge hammer will get more work done. @@mike_t_007 nope. Somehow home depot had several batteries in their warehouse that were over 2 years old. I buy them and lost track of the receipts. They fail at the 1 year mark for me. That makes them 3 1/2 years old by the serial number. See thats what people just don't realize is when you buy the higher priced tools they don't move off the shelf as fast and wind up being older than you think. In the case of my batteries i suspect they got lost somewhere and found and just thrown on the shelf. The milwaukee rep said home depot is supposed to return them after 1 year if they dont sell. They'll get replacements for the old ones. Well....i doubt the average warehouse worker even knows that or even gives a shyte either.

Milwaukee SENT you those Tools for Review right ?? I'm Always a little bit Leary when when the tools are sent to the reviewer by the Company , because you know your getting the Best , Perfect.Version of that Tool Ever Made ....
@Shoptoolreviews2 жыл бұрын
That is a valid concern, and I understand. This actually happened quite frequently some years ago. Reviewers/Influencers would get "special" engineered tools etc. However, that's pretty rare these days, especially from your major tool companies. As for this impact driver, it is very impressive; however, it's still very very close to it's predecessor (Gen3). In fact, on paper, their stats are identical. At the end of the day, you have to be able to trust the source where you're getting your information. It's very sad that many sources have muddied the waters when it comes to truth. We're not perfect, but we will be the first to admit when we're wrong or have made a mistake. Thanks for watching and sharing.

Milwaukee has definitely sent me a dud brad nailer as a review sample before. I don't think they hand pick tools for reviewers.

Both are very similar to their predecessors, but the Tri-LED is a big plus. Thanks for watching.

OK here’s my question why is it all of the impact drivers out there have these quick release? These are a failure tests have shown they will spit out your bets over time. they should have just stayed away from quick release. These are a disappointment studies have shown quick release does not work. Why is it now it is mandatory quick release Hass to be on impact. There should be a choice when you buy impact if you do not want quick release, then your options are not to buy a quick release on your impact. You should have the option to have the old standard check on your impact but this is what the manufacturers now want you to do because when your drills go out of service, then they want you to run to the store to buy a new one.
