Thanks for all of your reviews. Because of your reviews, I have now invested in the Milwaukee High Torque 1/2 impact, Milwaukee 3/8 right angle impact (honestly the most amazing tool I have ever used), and the Milwaukee 3/8 extended reach electric socket wrench. Milwaukee is simply making the best power tools right now and it’s really not that close. Plus when you factor in the 5 year warranty, the value per dollar is just immense. I would love to see a comparison between DeWalt, Makita, Bosch and Milwaukee impacts (high, mid, low) with one winner being crowned. Doing your typical righting loosening tests, plus comparing tool only costs (torque per dollar), size/weight comparison, and warranty comparison would make for a great battery of tests. I have heard good things about Makita/Bosch but have never used them. Thanks for all of these great videos!

Only tight as the stubby can go now so hopefully won't be a problem with overtightend nuts next time as they still will be over factory torque settings tight if the stubbys max torque is true. if your looking to remove wheels and dont mind cracking the odd bolt by hand it's a good tool and has enough power to put them back securely to.

Larger socket too which makes a difference.. Even then it's an 18v vs 12v so it should destroy the 12v. Even a dewalt impact seems stronger than the snap on to be honest.
@Shoptoolreviews3 жыл бұрын
The Snap-On is only available with a 3/8" anvil, and you can't find a 3/8" x 33mm socket. We can't use smaller fasteners because they won't hold up to this amount of power. Therefore, we welded a 3/8" to 1/2" adapter to a 33mm socket. The Snap-On is getting it's but kicked by a 2-year-old 12-volt Milwaukee that is less than half the price. It's not even close. Thanks for watching.

@@Shoptoolreviews You can however get the Milwaukee with a 3/8 anvil and make the test perfectly fair. There is a lot of Snap On bashing in the comment section. I'm not a Snap On fan boy. The Milwaukee is the clear winner in size and price. I would just like the comparison to be as fair as possible, that's all. I have stopped watching another tool review channel when the tool comparisons where set up in a way to favor one tool over the other. I don't want to watch commercials. Milwaukee does not have to cheat, they would win in a fair fight.

I had the 1/2 but I went 3/8 stubby. My only issue with the 1/2 impact wrench is that sockets tend to rub against the metal because the 1/2 anvil doesn't protrude out like the 3/8, but it also depends what socket brand you are using. I am going to get 1/2 if I ever get the M18 compact version.

The Snap-on is a 3/8” drive while the Milwaukee is a 1/2”. The socket adapter that was used in the Snap-on is robbing some of the torque it is capable of applying directly to the fastener. The easiest way to do a fair comparison would be to use a 3/8” Milwaukee as well. I have both Snap-on and Milwaukee and love them both. I do agree that Snap-on is way overpriced though.

Awesome review and comparison, thank you guys! Do you have any explanation for why modern wrenches typically have twice as much reverse torque as they do tightening torque? You mentioned removing takes less torque than tightening, but not by a 100%, right? If I recall, older impacts from 2010s were usually rated for the same amount forward and reverse, too, so something changed since then.
@Shoptoolreviews3 жыл бұрын
That's a great point. Typically it was kind of a 1:1 ratio, forward to reverse, but reverse was always rated a little more because it takes less force to remove a fastener. Today, with the dawn of brushless tools, they're able to actually program power curves/output in the tools. So, they can actually apply more power in reverse than in forward. Thanks for watching.
