After an extended month-long stay in Italy catching everything from trout in streams, pike in lakes, grouper off the rocks, and bluefin tuna offshore (check out the videos!), my family and I drove to the French Riviera in Cote d'Azure to a small town called Villefranche-sur-mer right next to the main city of Nice. I had been here once before but didn't think of it as being a big fishing destination. In any case, seeing that I brought my rod this time I thought I would throw out a line to see if I could get a bite. Sure enough, I was able to catch three new species (barracuda, dentex, and some mystery fish) in just under two hours while fishing off the rocks! Not bad for a sea that apparently is overfished!
