I've been eging for squid and tried a 14g metal jig someone recommended for the first time last weekend. Boy so much action on the jig. I was looking for an informative video and yours is awesome! Thanks for the great video.

Loves this video, I started dabbling in shore jigging last year but hoping to really get into it this winter. Lure/gear reviews or highlight videos. You guys have such cool products but because I don’t live in nsw I can’t come check out everything in store. Also don’t be afraid to do super close ups of your hands when doing rigging like in this video. Most people are watching on phones so it’s helps to be able see the finer details of what your doing.

Amazing feedback mate! I'll make sure to do more close ups in future videos

Great video Will! Bonus tip: rig front assists hooks on the flat side of asymmetrical jigs e.g slow blatts. This prevents the chance of hooks impeding action during tension fall.

Good content. It's especially useful getting those comparisons between rigging options, as the reasoning behind those choices is rarely explained in other content. Other topics of interest are mostly Japanese fishing styles like eging and ajing, since they can be very gear specific but without a tonne of clear explainer videos in English.

Great video. How do you choose the right shore jigging gears such as when you don't have a specific shore jigging rod, what specifications are you looking for?
@hatemwalid8 ай бұрын
awesome information guys! would love to get some more info on jig colors vs time of day, maybe also some more info on jig profiles and when to use what... I jig a lot in super shallow spots (under 2 meters) and struggle to find content that addresses that type of fishing... Cheers!

We get asked that a lot! I'll definitely note that down for a future video. Cheers

do you also recommend a ball bearing swivel? i will almost always go for a ball bearing swivel. happy to try a solid ring as i feel like getting the most out of your lure is much more important than a little bit of line twist hahahaa
@IsoFishingTV7 ай бұрын
100% agree that the lure action is the most important aspect to consider so it's usually a good idea to change your choice of swivel vs solid ring based off the lure and how it responds in the water

Snap swivels for me reason being I'm extremely lazy and love changing lures frequently
@IsoFishingTV7 ай бұрын
Snap swivels are super efficient and you get to cover a lot of ground by changing your lures around to see what works

Hello if possible I have a question about the shape of a slow pitch jigging hook, mostly I see the more u shape hook I think very good for a hook up but also very good in having a snag. There are hooks where the point of the hook is more bent in, pointing towards the head of the hook. Are those preferable, less snagging and hopefully still the same hook-up ratio. Do you have a some experience with those hooks. Thanks.
@IsoFishingTVАй бұрын
I've had experience with both hooks and I'll have to confirm the snagging aspect but to my knowledge, a combination of the eye position (in-line vs offset) and the shape of the gape of the hook tends to change the hook set when striking a fish. I've had good experiences with both but have a slight preference towards the wider gape hook that has a point slightly bending inwards, at least when I'm slow jigging.

What leader length would you recommend for shore jigging?
@IsoFishingTVАй бұрын
Although it comes down to personal preference and application, I personally use 2-3m to help reduce line breaks, especially when targeting species such as Kingfish which have a tendency to go headfirst towards structure.
