I used to live near here. I'd swim to that rock and back almost every day. I love watching your videos, I'm originally from UK so when people enquire about where I live I'd tell them to watch your vids as you capture it better than I ever could. Really miss that part of the world.

@@volkert7775 You get a few Bronze Whalers but they don't bother you really unless like Ollie you've just speared a fish then they can get a bit feisty. Seen an Orca in that bay chasing a ray but they're harmless to people. We're lucky here in NZ that shark attacks are extremely rare.

They used to build sailing ships there in the old days, the cuzzies had a big slaughter up on the beach pre euro times as well, alot of good fish have come out of there over the years, welldone!!!

Those kind of remind me of Tautog fish that we have here on our East coast of the U.S. Those are one of the very best tasting fish that we get locally . Great Video , that water is Crystal clear .

An impressive fish certainly, it's probably swam around there for the last 20 years. I let them go myself and eat the sweeter smaller snapps. That Bay is a special place.

Bloody legendary mate. Superb production .. how you going to keep topping those big fish though (like you seem to do every time). How about doing a catch and cook for smoked eel. I've been doing some lately, had some big ones, they're beautiful if they're bled, hung, salted and marinated for a couple days prior to smoking (I didn't even have to get wet lol). Excellent as always anyway mate. Have fun.

I've been meaning to go for an eeling mission, used to do a lot as a kid. Will try make that happen soon, smoked eel is delicious!

I found a stainless cray noose in one of those crevices a few years ago.. I love swimming up there, but it has tended to be rather barren I thought, good to see some kelp re-establishing there. That’s a great fish mate 🤙

Great video, that's one hell of a snapper too. Quick question - after you shot the first fish and you were waiting for the burley to bring in fish and you're above the water talking to the camera with no mask on, how come you aren't worried about sharks coming in for a look? I'd always be conscious of anything coming in! Thanks!

@@craigmills7280 hey mate every spot works differently and even the same spot can be hot or cold depending on moon phases/time of year so may factors. In summary you just need to find what works best at your local spots and dial them in. In gereral however, most spots works on an incoming tide in my opinion
