My hair is soooo similar to yours, my jaw drop when I checked your updated routine and your hair is so short! It looks great but I have always felt my hair is too thick to be short but you make it look good!

Aww thanks! Short hair was very easy to manage. It took 10 minutes to flat iron once it was dry and I could wear it like that for 2-3 days before washing again.

This was so damn helpful.... I had been searching for months, and finally I got this.

Shaving the legs with hair conditioner is really great! Same with feeling the need to style when hair is short. Your comb straightener combo technique is so smart! Love the look.

Your haircut looks fabulous it suits you so well. I need to go and see your hair dresser he did an awesome job. I like how you used just a bit of hair product it doesn't weight your hair down. Thanks for the great tips.,😘

Thank you! I've been very lucky with that and I've noticed that the bob is already really starting to grow out. I really notice the growth now that it's shorter.
@lovesport41235 жыл бұрын
will it mean you have to have more haircuts? all the time you wanted your hair to grow and it took ages now you want short hair it grows too quick lol
@AlexaLikes5 жыл бұрын
I never really had to wait for it to grow. It has been waist length (or below the bra strap) since I was 6-7 years old. Last year I got a long bob, this year I cut it to my jaw line. This is the shortest I've ever had is since being a baby, you could say ;)

I'm sure your hair will grow back soon, but then your straigtening treatment will fade.

I know. I remember thinking it was so sexual, but it seems more tame than what we have today. Young people have no idea about innuendo any more.

My hair is sort of the opposite of yours. It’s fine (but medium-ish density) and wavy with some loose curls. When I lived in Florida, it was a bitch to blow dry straight partly because I sucked at it and partly because it would get loose waves again from the incessant summer storms or dents from pulling it back in a ponytail. At that point in time before I really understood my hair, I had it cut shorter like shoulder length and would brush or comb it into a lower ponytail at the nape (after towel drying) and let it finish drying that way. That way, the top dried sleek and flat and the bottom had a little flip from the scrunchy. I’ve been modified curly girl method now for a while and have learned a lot more about my hair and how to style it. I usually go 4-5 days between washes/styles. It’s still a long process, which is why I do it at night or days off, and I try to refresh in between it I need it. My scalp does not actually get dirty for a little bit longer but I start losing definition and frizzing more and the tangle factor is high by then. I’m probably overdue for a treatment myself. Will probably do a rice water rinse and maybe protein treatment today when I wash (cause day 5-6 is a hot stretched out mess and I would rather not refresh again).

I can't imagine the Florida humidity and what it must do to hair! I wouldn't bother straightening in that climate. You're lucky to not struggle with you scalp getting dirty. I've never tried a rice rinse, but I had a rice water themed video idea on my list which I haven't gotten around to yet!

Well, I decided against the rice water because I didn’t realize that it is only good for a week after it’s made, even if refrigerated. So I need to toss my leftovers. :( My husband has a very oily scalp and has to wash more frequently. People complain about the humidity here but it’s nothing like it is in Florida.
@AlexaLikes5 жыл бұрын
@@plunkybug I'm debating on trying that. Usually for DIY stuff, I only make enough for a couple of uses because I have a tendancy to get lazy and forget to use it again. I don't know why! Yes, we complain a lot about humidity here - to be fair - it's actually kind of bad in Montreal. We get these disgusting heat waves that are sticky. You can hop out of a cold shower and be drenched in sweat after 5 minutes outside. Fortunately, it's only a couple of weeks.

There’s a handful of videos on rice water treatment preparation. I did the boil so I could eat the rice option and I sort of fermented it all day. It’s not a protein treatment as some say, but it does impart some minerals and such. Oats are allegedly also good to use. It’s been so long since I was in Montreal. I don’t recall it being humid...at least coming from Florida at the time, but I bet I’d feel differently now if I went as I have acclimated some since I’ve been here.

You would feel different now. The air is sticky now! I'm going to check out some tutorials about rice water then. ☺

The main thing i learnt from this is to buy that curled straightener. 😂
@AlexaLikes3 жыл бұрын
You can do it with a regular iron. I just bought this one because my hairdresser used it on me and I liked it.
