I appreciate the detailed information that Lake and Jimmy provided about the preparation and installation of the Total Seal gas ported, gapless piston ring sets. In the follow up segment after this engine was subjected to some serious dyno test flogging, Lakes Motor Oil Geek analysis revealed some very interesting results. The used oil chromium content from ring wear never exceeded 1 ppm in all of the NA and forced induction tests. The Total Seal rings were the only component listed that didn’t have excessive wear. Of course using a quality oil of the proper viscosity is important. But extreme boost will quickly reveal a poorly assembled engine or inferior components. Well done Lake, Jimmy and Total Seal 🏁
