Hi, super!! in addition do you know/heared the sound of the small cymbals (like Tschinellen/Cinelli?) with very big dome at 00:01:25 ? I guess that the third cymbal is provided with the inscription "Oata eimì".

Hi Andrea. I was allowed to handle the instruments but not to strike or shake them. I weighed them and took detailed measurements. I did not request to see the Oata Eimi cymbals as they are from an earlier period. I was specifically interested in cymbals from the first century A.D. only.

@@shonnyno Yes, I think so, but higher pitched. Depending on the type of bronze, possibly less resonant and sustaining also. It is from seeing cymbals like this from Pompeii that Hector Berlioz had copies made in France and introduced them into the Symphony Orchestra (in his Romeo et Juliette). The present day equivalent is finger cymbals or crotales
