SHORT CERVIX UPDATE | POST CERCLAGE | 21 WEEK PREGNANCY UPDATE

I share my cerclage story in this video. A week prior I found out I have a short incompetent cervix. This is my story about the cerclage and my feelings.

We have been through this experience. My wife had a emergency cervical cerclage stitch at 22 weeks of pregnancy. Emergency because cervix mouth was 90% open. After it’s done she was on bed rest (slant at the end to avoid pressure on stomach) also on food diet(no bakery foods, and any other food which will cause constipation and pressure on stomach)... and some medication... now we have a healthy baby boy 2.9 kg in a normal delivery... others who are going thorough this experience stay strong and take rest....

I just found this video. I was diagnosed with short cervix yesterday at my 21 week anatomy scan. Today I spent all day at doctors office with ultrasounds and contractions. I was ordered bed rest and some meds. I have weekly appointments to check my cervix. I’m feeling very blue and defeated as I had a different vision for my pregnancy. I'm officially 21 weeks today and had an emergency cerclage yesterday. Was .8 and went to 1.5/2cm today.... I know how you feel because I'm in similar situation. I'm leaving the hospital tomorrow n am also very scared of not making it to the 24 viable mark to. It's the scariest thing ever! This is our first boy and I have two daughters I delivered to term with them and praying not to lose my baby boy to! We would all be so devastated!!!

So glad I found you. On Tuesday at 20 weeks 4 days at the anatomy scan they discovered a funneling cervix that within 3 weeks went from 3.5cm to 2.2cm. A cerclage was placed and I am now home on strict bedrest due to the incompetent cervix and irritable uterus. We too feel so blessed it was discovered before we lost our son- we tried for 2.5 years of infertility treatments to get him to us and were scared to death Tuesday. At midnight we celebrate 21 weeks with him. I will be praying for you and have subscribed to follow your story.

I’m glad you shared your story I’m on my 2nd pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I was diagnosed with an incompetent cervix around 17 weeks.. miscarried at 22 weeks. It was the worst time of my life, becoming pregnant again brought back the fear of another loss. I’m currently 14wks now, I’m so scared. I went to the hospital yesterday for bleeding. My husband and I lost our first child, a baby boy, at 19.6 weeks just 6 days ago. We were too late to do a rescue cerclage and I had no other choice but to deliver our baby. It was the worst experience I've ever gone through in my life and the grief is still heavy. But I'm so blessed to have my husband and my hope is in Jesus Christ. Our sweet little boy is safe with the Lord. I didn't even know what an incompetent cervix was a week ago, but now I will need a cerclage for our future pregnancies as I most likely have an IC. Hello! I'm 18 weeks 5 days and found out yesterday that i have a shortened cervix at 2.4cm. I have a flight from the Philippines (currently where im at for vacation) back home to Los Angels on Feb 14 supposedly. My OBGYN adviced me not to travel as i may have a preterm birth on the flight and suggested that i do the Cervical Cerclage as well then fly back. I am so scared as I am a very paranoid person to begin with. And thinking that I'm not alone experiencing this make me feel better although i know its gonna be tough. everything u just went though happen to me I also got the cervical cerclage the doctor's did even think it would help me at that point we where just trying to get to 25 weeks so the baby could be saved. I made it to 36 weeks 1 day there is hope. just be close to the hospital when your water breaks I had my son in 3 hours because I was also at a 0.3 and also funnelling throw my pregnancy he just fell out lol but there is hope hang in there

So I went to get my second ultrasound to see if my cervix got an shorter,they said no but it’s still below what it should be. hi I found your video because I'm going through this same situation right now. I went for my anatomy scan and my cervix was measuring 1.5 cm. and then two days later I was measuring 6mm (around 3/4 cm.) and I was dialated 1 cm so I was told to have the cerclage placed right away. at my follow up I was funneling to the stitch but it's holding. I have 1.5 cm. of cervix below the stitch so I'm hoping that I don't go past the stitch. it's scary but I'm trying to have faith all is well. I'm also on modified bed rest so I can get up and move around though I pretty much choose to stay laying down as much as possible.

@@kibihiraharriet9105 after I had the cerclage placed in Feb 2017, I was on bedrest until about late May 2017. when I got to about 36-37 weeks, they removed the cerclage and I was able to resume normal activity because baby would have a better chance of survival. I went into labor at 38w6d and now my little one is 3.5 years old. it was scary to hear that I was having cervix issues and needed a cerclage but they do happen and the cerclage helps keep baby in longer for better chance of survival

Hello dear, at 20 weeks My cervix length was 2.4. Dr said it is ok put me on vaginal progesterone 200, but at 24 weeks cervix gets open by itself and baby came out on 23/11/19. Plz tell it was purely dr’s fault. She should fix clerage at 20 weeks only which she didn’t bother.
