I weld stainless in the field (sheet metal worker) and I’ll tell you it’s so difficult. Having your whip straight, climbing down 20 ft in the air to adjust settings gets maddening

It would be good to see a side bend. I know some codes, atleast here in Australia require side bends for CV short circuit. Nice job though 👍🏻

Yeah, you’re getting really good at this. It’s interesting that smaller machines such as my emp 215 and emp 205 are rated for 5/16”, and people keep asking me if I can go higher, I say yes. I’ve never asked these manufacturers, but are they assuming, in their specs, a single pass? Because I can easily match this with my machines.

woho the earily squad. i have a question .. sometimes the rod metal doesnt stick to both plates that am trying to weld unless i run the stick on a test plate to heatup the rod a bit and then it welds fine .. why is that ? take into account all am using are cheap chinese rods. you guys rock.
@Adam-lv1uu4 жыл бұрын
You're actually removing the moisture in the rod by heating it. If you intentionally make the ride stick instead of striking an arc you will heat the rod without burning it and then you can continue welding only for a few seconds though or it will get really hot quickly

Usually pulse spray yes, but the short circuit stainless is applicable for mostly sheet metal use.

@TMoD7007 na man I have never seen short circuit stainless. That classic stainless hum is spray transfer just like aluminum its the nature of the beast. if you dont have that hum your not doing it right nor getting proper fusion.

Stainless videos are good but using a grinder to cut out metal to allow you to put in metal really isn't fair,you should practice it so it's only your weld passes and wire wheel/hand brush cleaning to meet the specs, and when bend testing center your coupon in the jig/with the ram so you are pushing evenly on the center of your weld not ending up with a coupon 1/2" higher on one side and not in the center of the weld.....

I've worked for CBI, Nooter and B&W to name a few contractors who only did side bends on the 3 specimens you cut from your coupon. get your facts straight young man.
