Saw your message, thanks! You don’t have to tell me how awesome this lad is, his hands are those of a pianist beautiful! And the sound he brings out. ,,,,,,,,, some musicians are born to do this, Nobu, and Lang Lang are my favourites, keep well, xxx

I was in the audience at this concert (on both days, actually), but not until I saw this footage did I appreciate just how incredible the performance is. The camera, often filming from above the piano, shows just how awesome the hand movements are. As an amateur pianist, I can never do octave chords on one hand, let alone on both -- and without being able to see the keys! And, Nobu hardly looks sweaty afterward. They show the orchestra filing by Nobu after the performance and the women members especially look just as smitten with him as we :-)

@@tokio3690 It is true that there was no encore at the first performance, but the audience applauded loudly, and there were many curtain calls. The reviews were very favorable. The footage shown in this video is from the 2nd performance, and there was an encore, shown in the documentary. I am not a big fan of this concerto, but the performance of Nobu was breathtaking.

M. L. Liu: Even if I have used and enjoyed a keyboard for many years(easy to play with light keys and accompanient function) I have never learned to play a real piano. Recently I bought a digital piano with weighted keys and am working hard to learn playing piano for real. I will never become anything close to any classical pianist but hope to be able to play decent. And here Nobuyuki Tsujii is an inspiration and his skill in combination with his emotional playing is breathtaking! I feel true joy about that he has got the opportunity to live through his playing and that may be a certain compensation for not being able to see the world with his eyes. I really would like to listen to him live. I very much appreciate your channel. Best greetings from Sweden!

@@patricj951 Thanks for watching the video and for the nice comment. Seeing Nobu perform live is another level of experience from watching his video; I hope you do get to see him in concert, when things get back to normal after this C19 pandemic, that is :-( :-)
I apologize for not being able to share the entire performance, as much as I would love everyone to see it. I cannot bring myself to do that in good conscience, especially in this difficult time when so many people are deprived of their livelihood by the COVID-19 epidemic. The show from which this footage is extracted can still be legitimately watched for 2 weeks starting Feb 22 2020, at a reasonable cost. Please see mlliu2006.blogspot.com/2018/10/nobus-iceland-tv-special-how-we-can.html

Hi there, I'm a bit confused. We can watch entire programmes on demand for2 weeks from 22nd Feb? Or 22nd March?

"A gracious, excellent representative of his native Japan!" This makes my eyes misty. I am not Japanese, but as a long-time admirer of Nobuyuki Tsujii, I am proud of him. :-)

Thankyou for even this much, it’s hauntingly beautiful, sure, would have like to heard it all, but understand, be assured I will watch it! Hope you are keeping well, I am grounded for prob 6 months, ( ext high risk) so spend a lot of time listening to musicians operating from home, and empty concert halls, we will survive it! With music! Cheers xxxxxx

Beautifully played ! He always respects the harmonies with orchestra. I watched other pianist played this concerto . He ignored the first violin’s main melody , totally ruined this beautiful harmony.

“The principal task of a conductor is not to put himself in evidence but to disappear behind his functions as much as possible. We are pilots, not servants.” -- Franz Liszt

Sorry, but may I seek clarification. Is your point to praise Mo. Nagano, or do you have an issue with him? Mo. Nagano did what every other conductor does when they perform with Nobuyuki Tsujii, and in my opinion and did it quite well.
