In 2025 I'm going to go back to the roots of shooting & directing more budget friendly short films. Most of my short films to date have been done on a budget of around $1,000-$5,000. With this short in particular there were certain costs I just could not get away from, one of the biggest being the location. I also wanted to use this film as a promo piece for my annual horror short film contest as well as a detailed behind the scenes video to show how "Larger" productions run and work with some core key crew positions. If you want to see that BTS video "The Making Of" I've linked it in the video description below. I hope you enjoy this budget breakdown, and if you have any questions...drop a comment below!

Also on a darker note...this campground has since burned to the ground in the recent LA fires :(

That is so sad to hear! One of the unfortunate gifts of cinema is that we can capture our world before it changes. Amazing film!

Would love to see how you create and format any shot list/story boards you use to plan your films. Great video, thanks for sharing.

I would love to see a breakdown of the camera package including the texture you decided to use on the Alexa35 and why. Great stuff.

I'm surprised the permitting wasn't covered by the location since it's like private property, is that primarily an LA or Cali thing? I'm on the east coast. Great breakdown though!

@@jackbynum technically in LA you need a Permit ANYWHERE you shoot regardless if it’s a private location or not

Hey Jakob , really nice video! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos with good pricing & turnaround time and will also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your video to reach a wider audience ! Lmk what you think ?
