A very nice video, beautiful scenery too. I've only ever piloted a 150 once, but I found it a very pleasant aircraft to fly, even for a fairly low hours pilot like myself.

You do your preflight about like I do, only faster - LOL. Interestingly an A&P friend of mind accused me of doing an annual inspection instead of a preflight. I want to warn you about one thing though. The seat, I had one come loose on me one time flying out of Savanah, Georgia one time shortly after takeoff. Since then, I've made DAMN sure the seat was locked in right. Keep the greasy side down.

@@justaboutaviation9343 I've been training in an Aeronca Champ for almost a year. I finally took one lesson in a 172 in January. Then my friend took me flying in his Beechcraft Debonair twice and let me take the controls for a short while. Another friend is in a seven member club that owns the 150. He promised to take me flying soon. Any way I can get to fly in a GA is fine with me.

Thanks for the video! Out of curiosity, how do you get the mix of ambient noise and headset audio? I have a GoPro and when I plug the headset adapter in, the ambient mic cuts out.
@justaboutaviation93432 жыл бұрын
I use multiple cameras and just mix in the audio from one not plugged into the intercom. I turn down that volume in editing. I like to have it in the video to give an audio sense of where my throttle is set. Thanks for the question, and for watching.

Brings back memories; I was learning in a 152 back in the 90s. I quit before I got my license. I recall the best rate of climb was 67 knots. Is that still the case? I thought I heard you mention 70 as you were taking off.

I have not flown since 1976. Instructor used to slap my hand if I steered after I touched down. He insisted just to use the rudders once on grown. I noticed you steered with yoke. Are airplanes different now?
@justaboutaviation93432 жыл бұрын
I suppose your instructor never discussed on the ground wind correction as to keep from getting flipped in high winds, or relieving nose wheel pressure by pulling back on the yoke. Different instructors. Different styles. Thanks for watching.

Really enjoyed this video. Just took a discovery flight a few weeks ago on a Cessna 172, and I have a few questions. How long have you been a pilot/flying? Do you own or rent the Cessna 150? What are the cost for hanger and tie downs in your area? Thanks for sharing! Thinking about taking lessons.
@justaboutaviation93432 жыл бұрын
I am still a student pilot. I still have to take the check ride before I'm done. I bought the 150 just a few months ago and totally love her. As far as hangar and tie downs, at my airport tie downs are $30 a month, and an open T hanger is around $165 if you can find one. I'm still on a wait list to get mine. I'm glad to hear about your discovery flight. I hope you enjoy it. Please check out some of my other videos. I did one on the prebuy inspection of the 150, a short one when I test flew her, and when I finally got to fly her home. Thanka for watching.

Hi. Thank you for sharing! Question: around the 12.18 minute point of the video you turned to final and made the comment "that was awful". I assume you were referring to the alignment of the aircraft to Runway 21. Is this interpretation correct? Thanks!
