This isn't a room, its his heart , his life... How he let her enter in it, stays happy and things get messy and later on moves on and cleans all those to welcome new changes... Lovely representation

Another way of thinking
@icysnow57cold64

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. Also, most people are pretty much comfortable enough to be naked around someone and have sex with someone that they have no romantic feelings towards. So sex isn't really a thing about romance. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner is. Also, you would more likely be much closer to a person who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.

@@icysnow57cold64 I also think romantic love is just a social construct. It's like a fantasy world people imagine and when they wake up to practicality, it's a mess.
@icysnow57cold64
@icysnow57cold64 3 жыл бұрын
@@falak4535 Also, there are a lot of toxic romantic relationships, while there isn't that many toxic platonic relationships. Like an example is that abuse happens a lot in romantic relationships, while abuse is rare in platonic relationships. So there is a lot of abusive romantic relationships, while there is isn't that many abusive platonic relationships. Why do you think abusive romantic relationships have a term for them called "domestic violence", while abusive platonic relationships don't have a term for them? It's because abuse in platonic relationships are very rare, while abuse in romantic relationships happens a lot. And also, a lot of people cheat on their romantic partners with someone else, while most people won't do stuff like that with their platonic best friends. Also, I heard that most people can live a life without romance and can still be happy. But most of the time, if someone doesn't have any platonic friends in their life, it can effect them really bad mentally; much worse than living a life without a romantic partner. In today's world, less people are dating and getting married now, and they seem to be more happy being single rather than being in romantic relationship with someone. Also, you're going to have a much deeper spoken understanding and connection with your best friend than you are with a romantic partner or spouse. So those are other reasons why romantic love isn't real or special, while platonic love is.

I hate to be rude, but that is a glaring piece of the story. I think what is even deeper is the fact that even after the alien is thrown back into his window, he still wants to go out and meet someone new after cleaning his room and hiding the alien. Is the point of the film that everyone needs to move on, or we never forget those we love the most?

Something I learnt in my relationship is that you must not get lost in the relationship you must be in it and also be aware of your surroundings. Love isn't all about sex and fun I believe its deeper than that it about finding someone you who makes you a better person and helps you grow and upgrade your life

glad to see someone else agrees on this, they started the relationship on something shallow (sex) rather then a friendship which is why it most likely didn't last.
@LucasC12008
@LucasC12008 Жыл бұрын
@@lovebug7985 Hey, I belive that there was a phillia (friendship) type of love which then tranistioned to eros (sex). In the beginning there were representations of a friendship, yeah it wasn't very long but I belive there still was. I 100% agree with ur statement that there should be a friendship first, I agree that a friendship are the building blocks to a healthy and lasting relationship. While watching the film I realized that the woman started to not care and she was making the room dirty, whereas the man was trying his best to keep the relationship going. My assumption is that the lady was building the relationship by being intimate only and that ultimtly lead to her downfall. At the end the guy was improving himself, he cleaned the room, and took care of himself. Momentary happiness is not worth it at the cost of mental health.

love should spontaneous and the moment you find a real partner, it shouldn't be alarming to think long-term. Relationships are never easy because you share your life with another person but that is exactly why it is so precious. It needs care and patience and love and understanding. The thing is, the person who you love the most and can make you the happiest, can also cause heartbreak and sadness, but only because we care about our loved ones. Our heart flutters when they say something nice, we get sad and upset when they say something critical, and so on, but only because their words mean the world to us. Nonetheless, love is one of a kind and everyone needs to experience it and learn those lessons. It's part of the human experience. It's important to focus on the bigger picture when thinking about love.

his room is relatively clean before she comes. when she does come she has a bit of a mess but not too much. through all of their happy times a very small mess will appear but then it will get cleaned up. she is actually the one cleaning/making the bed (right after halloween) this represents small mishaps that are easily picked up/brushed off by her. you only see the big mess start to appear when he kicks the toy and their relationship starts to deteriorate. only from then on it gets progressively worse and worse. this is because she is becoming more and more depressed and unhappy in the relationship. she no longer is trying to fix the relationship, therefore she is no longer trying to pick up her mess. when you’re in a bad state of mind most of the time so is your room. you have no motivation to clean. it’s a terrible cycle to get into. this becomes apparent when she finally leaves. she takes all of her stuff but you can see there is still some mess on her side despite her taking all her stuff, meaning that some of that was actually HIS mess that was unnoticed, appearing as hers. he got rid of some of his unhappiness by putting it on her. (putting his mess on her side) he himself become messy when he becomes unhappy and depressed. you realize this is what she was going through the whole time her mess was growing bigger and bigger. the toy is a representation of their love, which “comes in peace” it is not their love for one another but their actions which tear them apart. it could be the effort is not longer being put into the relationship. again it’s not the mess which makes them unhappy. the mess starts to appear when they’re already unhappy, whatever reason it may have been. only later when the mess because very bad does it cause them to fight. he kicks the toy it lands in the heart shaped pail. which is used to fix the leaking roof representing the breaking point of their relationship. a pail cannot fix a leaking roof, it must be properly fixed in order for it to not leak again. they choose to get a black circle pail once again instead of properly fixing the roof. no longer their love, like the heart shaped pail. but now a cold basic black pail. the christmas lights she puts up are her trying to make the room appear nicer despite all the mess. it’s her not wanting to try fix the relationship but just bury the problems. when the toy comes back through the window i do believe that that is her who throws it back considering the toy had been missing for quite some time before it returns. not only that but he’s wearing the shirt she got him for his birthday when it reappears. i think she picks it up at some point and holds onto it. it represents their love so that is her holding onto their love. he also only takes down a few photos from his wall but not all of them, the ones he does take down, if you pay attention they are the ones they take together, but he does not throw away but puts them in the nightstand meaning he still has feelings for her. i think her throwing it back was kind of saying, “now you understand why i got so messy, i was unhappy how you are now” and him cleaning is getting ready to start again. i do believe that it is her, but he wants his room to appear as he’s been fine and moved on and that’s why he clearly places the magazines on his nightstand where she could see them. to begin they were always under his bed hidden away even before she came over. lastly the biggest message is to change and grow. there is clearly a huge sign that reads “CHANGE” in his room. the last thing he changes is the bedspread where all their memories were made. it’s time for new ones to be made and for them to change bad habits, together for themselves and for each other.

His room IS relatively clean when she came in... but did you notice he felt he had to hide a part of himself quickly before letting her into his space? over the whole story he never let her know that part that he had hidden. Why was that? Was he ashamed of it? Or was he fearful that she wouldn't accept that part of him? Or did he plan to show her in time but then it got forgotten? And lastly, what might SHE have decided to hide before she came into the relationship? What part of herself did he never get to see? No surprise that the mess accumulated in this relationship because they were both probably not being their most authentic selves.

It's not about the height, it's about the field of view of the lens. Do a quick research about field of view in photography/filmmaking and wide angle lenses. That's also why you can see so much of both sides of the wall. The field of view is probably something like 120°.

@Sam Gaming You might be right, i don't see much distortion either. Using a wide angle lens is much easier and cheaper though, i'm not sure.

People have no patience in this generation, being in love is an amazing thing and forgiving and putting up with the mistakes of the person you love is the real love and adds more meaning to everything and I know that there are many old people who wrote about the death of their loved ones crying or sleeping next to the grave of the person they loved and wishing for death so they can be together. The love many young people understand now days is pleasure and spending good time and that's all.

I know that when u fall in love u loose ur mind and u can't think properly and u don't care about anything else but ur love.I was in love and got heart broken.I stayed depressed for 6 months then finally I woke up and moved on.The first thing I changed in my life was my bedroom.Then I deleted alot of people in my life.I selected only a few.My attitude changed.My personality grew stronger.Now I enjoy being alone more.I just love my ownself company.Love is something very and very beautiful. But I advise everyone to fall in love when they get more mature and become more wiser . That's what I learnt.

The moral of the story is.......... to keep your room clean. Keep your life clean. To have a tidy up often of the things that may be piling on top of you and others. The cleaner your head the happier you will be. That could be letting go of bad things that happened yesterday and the years before and dropping your worries and frustrations that don't serve you purpose anymore. This may not be the reason of the video and I can think of other reasons but that was what I took from it. Everyone sees things differently just thought I would share what I saw.

He obviously cared more about the relationship than she did. Her stuff kept spilling onto his side, she was spending all her time at his place...not only taking up space but creating a huge mess which can only be reflected in her life outside of him and not much of one since her codependent behavior was apparent. She demanded help from him pertaining to things she should’ve been takin care of on her own. It was too much for him, but he continued to try. Him sitting on the edge of the bed represented his need to get out of the situation and she had the opportunity to quit wallowing in her self pity by reaching out at that moment. And then she left only to pick up her stuff and leave him in a mess they both created. It’s not to say it was entirely her fault, just that some people’s side of the situation is a lot messier than the others.

lesson I've learned by this vid: everything is so sweet at the beginning but suddenly can go difficult and bitter. you have to choose what kind of partner you want to be. if you're going to fight and trying to change the things that you know you're doing wrong or you just don't give shit and keep your side messy.

I think the messy room represents the love. How they start off strong [ The room being clean ] and then how everything unfolds [ room being messy] Love is a cherishable thing and everyone should know it. You shouldn't treat it as a piece of garbage that you throw on the floor. It's much more than that.

The room is slightly messy in the beginning, he got out of a relationship a little while ago. When he is cleaning up he puts the past behind him and starts out fresh with no problems. Little by little the room gets messier, these being problems, they clean, they fix their problems. But it eventually gets too much, the room gets extremely messy, until they can't handle each other anymore. Then they break it off. He sits in their past, their old problems, until he cleans his rooms, leaving him with a fresh mind.

I watched this video and was inspired to say this. I usually don’t comment on many things but I want to share something very important: MAINTAIN YOUR RELATIONSHIP!!! Fairytales are beautiful and romance is great.. but even love needs to be cared for. Do something for your partner every. Single. Day. It doesn’t have to be huge. It could be a kiss or an “I love you.” Maintain your relationship after marriage as well. It’s like a backyard. You need to mow it often to keep it nice. If you let it go for too long, it’ll be extremely hard to mow later. Weird analogy, but you get the point. If you have an argument, remember that it isn’t the end of the world. It’s healthy for couples to argue and advance their relationship this way. It intensifies your love to go through hardships together. Try to understand your partner, try to compromise on things... MAKE SURE you go to sleep content with each other. NEVER go to sleep angry. Always sleep in the same bed (if you’re married). One thing that helps is doing something that boosts dopamine after fighting... After an exhausting argument, we dance together. It calms us both down. After, we find arguments way easier to navigate. Just remember that you love this human. In a marital setting, remember why you married this person. This is the one you chose to love and protect your whole life. Remember that you made this person a forever promise! Fall in love together every day. Recognize the good more than the bad. When you recognize the bad, work hard to fix it together! Work hard to improve yourself over improving them. Go on weekly dates, they can even be little like watching a movie together at home. Overall, just love each other and work hard to maintain your relationship. It’s so so worth it. I promise you. I wish you all the best and God bless! ❤️

pareekshit mawar there are a lot of people who live their lives without being in a relationship and are perfectly happy. I know even more people who are in relationships and are unhappy. I think it's more important to have family and friends in our lives that we love. Yes dating and loving someone is nice, but after going through the worst break up of my life, I can no longer find interest in anyone else. But I am happy and I get to enjoy many of the wonderful things life has to offer. Relationships are just too stressful honestly. I'm very happy I'm not in one

Easily one of the BEST short films I've seen! This angle is so creative and there's just so much meaning behind it. So brilliant yet simple. Absolutely beautiful job!

I'm so glad that my boyfriend and I are really doing our best to make our relationship a comfortable space for both of us. And trust me, it's difficult, because I'm a really troubled person. I'm so hopeful about us lately, but I always have this fear in the back of my mind that maybe all this efforts are just not enough to make us work.

wow. the symbolism. the metaphors. i can name THOUSANDS. it’s established that his side of the room is on the left. hers is on the right. throughout the video, he keeps his side of the room relatively clean, whereas hers gradually becomes an entire mess. as the relationship progresses, they start to argue over things they can’t find because of the mess. which ties to the fact that he’s trying his best in the relationship by keeping things orderly, but she doesn’t seem to care and throws her stuff wherever she pleases. it’s making the statement that men can be the victim in relationships too! and it’s not always seen that way. FURTHERMORE, did y’all see the pails????? or was that just me?? at first the heart shaped one is put on his side of the room to catch the rain leaking through the ceiling. his heart starts taking in the emotional trauma from the relationship, whereas it’s not even affecting her side of the room! and THEN. oh BOY. the black circular pail? there’s too much rain for his heart to handle, and it turns into his emotions being expressed through a black. hole. (possibly depression?) there’s also the observation that many people have already made where his room becomes more colorful but messy when he meets her, and is a lot neater but duller in color without her. sometimes relationships feel euphoric but leave a person devastated in the end. momentary happiness at the cost of mental health and order in life is not worth it! oh gosh i could go on but that’s it from me. i havent seen a video like this that interested and inspired me this much! wow!

i caught onto most of that, but i have been trying to understand the toy, what the phrase symbolizes and why it returns. who throws it back? and why? it seems like it has been gone for a while so we know it wasn’t returned the very next day.

This short film actually has a lot of meaning to it if you understand it. It's also one of my personal favorite, I take electronic media production in my college and definitely want to do a remake of this though I'll give credit! Let's all take our time to appreciate how perfectly edited this video is, from the sound production, to the transitions, perfect timing and the wonderful work of art these actors put out for the video. It's hard to manage this all in one video. It takes one whole team to do this. From writers, to directors, to producers, to filmmakers, to music editors, video editors, actors and please do forgive me if I have left out any important talents. I have a ton of respect for the whole team, it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to make this happen. Absolutely astounding. Amazed by the response this video has got. Though, if I were Jack Tew, I wouldn't be surprised about the response, because it's such a good short film that took probably a few months to make. Best one I've encountered so far. Much love x

Watching this video gave me a glimpse of a lot of memories. Maybe a little sad feeling of "I miss this". Our routine, the breakfast that I never like to eat, but when was make by her was aways different. I see my history in that video, maybe because we in the most of time have a great moments in an room like that, even the Little light in the wall out of Christmas time. Watching movies, novels, discussing plans for the weekend, our lifes... And then all goes away.

If your life is a mess don't expect someone to come and clean it up. You must clean up your own mess, and when your life is a comfortable room to stay then you can invite someone to come in. That's how healthy relationships and real love start.

Bruh this almost had me tearing up. I used to turn my nose up at romance stuff until I got into my first relationship. In high school, I didn’t care about boys, I was happy, I didn’t care about being single. All of my friends and girls around me were desperate for boyfriends but i really didn’t care. Then I graduated and my first boyfriend came into my life and boy was I nervous. We’re both pretty mature for me being 18 and him being 20. We’ll be together a year in July. I didn’t think I’d ever get in a relationship but I am so in love with him and he’s in love with me even more if that’s possible. Watching this reminds me of all the times we spend in his bed. But we are in a super healthy relationship but still, having a significant other makes me realize how people can fall out of love and it scares the shit out of me because he’s my best friend and my lover. A life without him would be unbelievably dull. I hope we stay together for a long time. I don’t want anybody else. Great video.
