If you like short-nail content, try Kelli Marissa! Hers are a /little/ longer than Ben's, but not much, definitely way shorter than most nail KZbinrs. It's great for understanding how a polish will look without much free edge/how many coats something will take for nails that aren't as long.

I am a design student. Cristine, you are right. The Apple Watch has slightly green undertones and the polish has slightly orange undertones. If you look at the parts are in shadow it’s a lot more obvious. The polish’s shadow is orange and the watch’s is green. Obviously both colors are still yellow, but comparatively one is green toned and one is orange toned lol I hope that made sense

I work with cardboard all the time so aside from my hands been dry, my nails are fragile (they where long before working at the store I do now) and break all the time despite my efforts to grow them! So this video is very appreciated~

Short nails here. I have a tendency to get a little too intense with the nail file and then oops it's too short 😅 And yes, I definitely see that watch band as having a green undertone while the nail polish is a warm yellow.

I’m 71 & having much trouble with the lupus so my nails have been thin & weak. I’d thought it was not appropriate to paint now as it was a bad look. It’s like you, & the survey, told me it’s still nice. And I learned to get a clean away brush. Thanks.

Short nail guy here. My first Holo Taco order came the other day, so this was very well-timed! I've only used it once so far but love it - that one coat black doesn't mess around. Already want more colours. I'm struggling a little with the things that I used to back in the day: my hands aren't the most steady, but my left hand is trash to paint with, and the flesh (lol) on a couple of my fingers on each hand comes up alongside the nail a little so it always get in the way; def need the clean-up brush! Trying these little plastic nail stencil thingies that slip on the ends of your fingers to try to get a clear shot at the nails. Will see how it goes.

​@@_sch_eme_ I did! 😀 They aren't stickers, though; they're shaped plastic and slip onto the ends of your fingers/thumbs. Just tried them this evening and they really helped. Made sure to jam them on tight so they pushed the sides of my fingers away from the nails. They have two sets of several different sizes for each of your fingers. Cheap as well, which you've got to love! But they made it so much easier to paint the nails, even using my left hand. Just had to be careful that they didn't pull off the liquid latex when putting them on.

@@veggie1764 shaky as well. I just bought those plastic guides! Haven't used them yet. Tha acetone/brush doesn't work for me bc my skin is dry and thick so it stains. (I've tried every hand cream, oil, treatment...nothing works!) So I just have to avoid getting polish on my skin.

As someone with short to medium nails (depending on how long it's been since I filed them, but they're brittle so I don't let them get too long) who has a hard time neatly painting only on my nails, I've loved using protective peel for the last few years with every mani so I don't have to worry about getting the polish on my skin since it just peels off! I'll use needle-nose tweezers for cleanup since I find it easier and more precise than I could get with a brush.

I love that Cristine has all the nail accessories in the world, except a dappen dish or a shot glass to pour her cleanup acetone in. And she just dangles the brush way down in the bottle of acetone 🤣. I bet they have a shot glass in the house right now

Jojoba oil is truly so versatile. I've heard it used to remove makeup, moisturize nails, and add oil to hair.

Sadly I *am* one of those people that can't grow my nails out because they're too brittle :') If I paint my nails regularly I can get away with growing them out a liiiittle longer, but then I risk them breaking once the lacquer starts to chip and wear off. But I've learned to embrace having small nail beds, polish makes for a fun little pop of interest on my hands. Black and other dark colors are definitely my go-to, looks great with fingerless gloves.

I know this is 6 months ago but don't lose hope! Mine are brittle too, now I am treating them with a nail hardener (mavala) and jojoba oil, it's better and I am slowly going longer. Skipping nail polish until they are strong enough. So there are different stuff you can do for types of brittle nails, mine was brittle, bendy and peeling, sorry for the mental image. If you search for your problems on youtube there are some great channels and tips you can try.

I learned a good tip! Apply nail polish short of the proximal fold (cuticle), then the top coat can seal in the polish. Excellent.

Short nail gang! Have bitten my nails all my life, down as far as possible (to the point they bleed and get infected), and have occasionally managed to grow them beyond the tips of my fingers, currently trying to work on this and my other BFRBs (trichotillomania and skin picking), I have not bitten in about 10 days :) So glad for this video (and a new channel to watch), because I have so many nail polishes I love but its difficult to get them to look good with my nail situation.

My nails are VERY prone to breaking and chipping. I type a lot and have 3 small kids so my nails get abused. I use long lasting base, then smoothing base. I try to make sure I have 3 layers of polish (whether it’s a crème, holo, or topper. Just 3 total layers). Then one thick layer of glossy taco. I not only wrap the tip but I literally paint the underside of my nails to give them extra support like a splint

My nail length is complicated lol. On my main hand, I would consider medium compared to simply but to anyone else they are long. Then my other hand I consider short since they just pass the fingertip by less then a cm but a lot of people would consider it medium.

I have mixed length nails so my thumb, pinky, and ring finger are simply long and my index and middle fingers are Ben short and I have a life hack for the short mail gradient lovers: you don’t necessarily need to paint the polish on the sponge thin enough to be as short as your nails because you can just squish the sponge so the colors squeeze together a bit and it works really well if you just put a smidge less polish on since squishing the sponge will squeeze some out. I did 6 color rainbow gradients on all my nails for June this year and I used the same sponge with the same spacing on all my nails but I still had all 6 colors roughly even on every nail despite having a 5+mm difference between my long and short nails. I honestly had more issue with my long nails being longer than the sponge than I had with squishing the sponge for the short nails

Even two years later this video is super helpful! I’m a barista and for the life of me I can’t make polish stay on my nails (on and off shift). I’ve been trying to grow my nails out because I have a really nasty habit of biting them once one breaks instead of waiting until I get home to file them down. My favorite will always be Life In Plastic (I still have a bottle from when it was first released and only wear it for special occasions (aka pride month this month!)) and I’m searching for an alternative on HT! Anyways, thank you for all that you do, you’ve been helping me with my nails since I was in middle school and are continuing to help me going into college! I appreciate you a lot, and I can say that for a lot of people that you’re truly an amazing person and a big inspiration for me! Baby oil is used to oil the baby before we give birth so it comes out easier. 🤣 No but seriously it's used for mostly cradle cap. But I'm an artist and I find it's also super helpful in removing oil paints from paintbrushes because we all know water and oil doesn't mix. So..baby oil. 👍

If you can, saline-diluted iron infusions are great. I got to take iron supplement pills for ages and that never improved my anemia even remotely as effectively as infusions.

I love this!! My nails are a quite a bit shorter than BEYYYYYYN's and I'm working on growing out my nails right now (I can't have them too long because I dance but I wanna get them past my fingertips). I figured out that the best way for me to not bite my nails is to paint my nails every Monday so that I don't want to mess up the polish. I am soooo excited because I might get some Holo Taco stuff for christmas this year!!!!

Late in the comments but I have been a serial nail biter (but not really breaking any skin surrounding the nail, just the lack of white tips on my nails lol). My hands are very dainty and small...and so are my nail beds! I have stopped biting for 30 days now and this is the longest my natural nails have ever been. I am looking forward to making my natural nails feel pretty after a couple more months of growing, I am focusing on making them grow strong with the castor oil I have at home.
